A four day Best Practices Consultaton will be held at Tijuana Del Mar Campus by invitation of Peter Iliyn, YWAM North American Director. With significant organizational and legal issues to be constantly aware of and updated on Peter is bringing consultants in to help shape a best practices document for YWAM USA.
The focus wil be on four major issues
1. Governance
* Articles of Incorporation
* By laws
* Board Structure
2. Finances
* Deputized Fundraising
* Memorandum of Understanding
* W2’s vs. 1099’s
* Key Accounting Policies
* Federal Charitable Solicitation Laws.
3. Visas & Immigration
* Student Visas
* Staff Visas
* How Governance and Financial policies impacts these areas
4. Liability & Risk issues
* What are the significant risk issues facing non-profits
* What are appropriate insurance levels for YWAM bases
We intend this to be a working consultation. Several legal experts are being invited.
Fly into San Diego airport no later than 3pm on May 11th and depart no earlier than noon on the 14th.
