Children At Risk School Comes to Tijuana Mexico
With the global awareness of human trafficking growing and the exploitation of woman and children becoming more understood, YWAM San Diego/Baja is bringing a school to it's Tijuana Campus that will help shape the way we view and address this significant issue. We really need this understanding and knowlege here as we are located next to the busiest border in the world. Staff from the Tijuana Campus have been ministering in Zona Norte (Tijuana's red light district) and are eager to learn wiser and safer ways to deal with the issue.
Teaming up with Not For Sale and with Dr. David Batstone the Children at Risk School, being held January 2011, is planning on a week-long seminar opening up to the public where various issues around the topic of trafficing will be addressed. Such as how to recognize those who have been trafficked, how to investigate, how to bring awareness, and how to give qualified tips to law enforcement. We are expecting around 300 participants to join us.
With YWAM being located around the world in over 1500 locations, it is safe to say that we are in the cities where these trafficked women and girls are being sent from, AND most likely located in cities they are being delivered to. Our goal with this school and the seminar is to bring awareness and encourage action, especially for those of us here in Northern Baja and Southern California. We must learn how to engage this issue that is right under our nose. We CAN and MUST do something about it.
This school will teach the individual wise and right ways to move forward, as well as highlight what not do do with these women and children at risk. Stay tuned for the dates of the seminar. If you would like to take the three month lecture phase and six month outreach of the Children At Risk School then please contact registrar@ywamsdb.org It starts this January and costs $3150 for the lecture phase.
