Frequently Asked Questions:

Can children come?

Yes. The cost to participate is less for children 12 years and under. It is up to the parents to decide if they are comfortable bringing their child onto the build site. All parents are responsible for their children's safety.

Are the food and water safe in Mexico?

The tap water is not safe to drink. However, bottled water is provided on the build site and at our base. The food is also well prepared by our staff and we follow health regulations.

Is it sanitary?

Yes. Whether you stay at our base or the local hotel, you will have access to sanitary facilities. At the build site there will be clean porta-potties and hand sanitizer for your team to use.

What should I bring?

Please see our "Preparing to Come" page for a list of what to bring.

Do we have to bring our own tools?

No. We provide all the materials needed for the build. All you need to bring is your personal items.

What kinds of documents are needed to enter Mexico?

Please visit our "Travel Documents" page for more information on what is needed to enter the country.

What is the weather like?

We recommend looking online for the forecast of the days you will be here. The temperature rarely gets below 45 degrees Fahrenheit or higher than 90 degrees Fahrenheit. It rarely rains here.

What will be our responsibilities at the YWAM base?

Your responsibilities will differ depending on which of our locations you are staying at. You may be asked to help with breakfast and dinner cleanup. If so, our staff will ask for volunteers and assist you.
