Youth Ministries Elective
As Youth With a Mission we are absolutely called to reach young people and help mobilize them into all the fullness that God has for them in their identity and calling. We believe that young people are not just the future of the Church—they are a vital part of what God is doing right now. Throughout Scripture, God uses young people to accomplish His purposes and He invites us to partner with Him in raising up the next generation to know Him, love Him, and walk in His ways.
In this elective, you'll learn from experienced youth leaders, take part in some aspects of our Missions Adventures program and help serve and reach out to young people. We’ll also look at topics such as understanding youth culture, reaching young people and the common struggles facing young people today. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to minister to and reach out to youth in partnership with our local ministries.
Whether you feel called to youth ministry long-term or simply want to be better equipped to invest in the lives of young people wherever God sends you, this elective will challenge you to lead with humility, love compassionately, and reflect the heart of Jesus to the next generation.

Course details
Jun. 15 - Nov 5, 2027, at San Antonio del Mar campus
Lecture Phase: $3995 USD Includes tuition, food, & housing.
Outreach Phase: $4000-4500 USD
Course is bilingual, run in both English & Spanish
Potential outreach locations may include Southeast Asia, Latin America, or Africa.

The Lecture Phase
We have 6 DTS schools each year that begin every January, April & September and each one runs bilingually in both English & Spanish. The DTS opens with a three month lecture phase where students discover more about God while surrounded by God's beauty in beautiful Baja California, Mexico just south of San Diego. Each week students have a new guest speaker, and each week focuses on a different topic. Throughout the week students will worship and pray together as well as read through the bible together. Students live in a close knit community with one another and encourage one another to grow in their walk with the Lord. There is also time to meet in small groups, and the opportunity to be personally mentored & encouraged and discipled by our YWAM staff. The lecture phase includes food, housing as well as your tuition all for $3,995 USD.

THE Outreach PHASE
Spend an 8-week international phase to GO, SERVE, & SHARE God’s incredible love to the world! You’ll venture to a community unfamiliar with God’s story and use your new missional mindset to transform lives with His love.
Perform hands-on missions through service work, prayer, worship, and your chosen passion empowered during your elective.
Possible outreach destinations include: Latin America, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, The Caribbean, or Africa
