FAMILY STORY:

Federico and Guadalupe met in Ensenada while working in the fields and have been living together for nine years. Guadalupe sometimes goes to Oaxaca to visit her parents and there is where her three oldest children were born, only Alfredo has been born in Ensenada. They lived with relatives before deciding to buy a piece of land on credit and they have been living there for about seven months. Their land payment is $60 a month. Federico works in the fields cutting flowers and earns about $45 a week. They live in a small room made of tarps with a little wood and cardboard that their neighbor helped them build. Federico's sister Antonia is the only family they have here in Ensenada and lives with them. Antonia has two grown children who are married.
