Hello, my name is Adela and I'd like to share a bit of my story.
When I was younger, I fought in school so my parents decided to take me out of school. Because of that, I don't know how to read or write. The Homes of Hope staff are helping me to express my story to you. Because I never learned to read or write, its very hard for me to find a job, and more so because my kid's father left me and has another family. Every now and then, he will send us $100 to help me with some of my kid's costs.
My brother helps me make my land payments so that I can have a place to live with my family. I haven't been able to give my kids a worthy home and I often feel embarrased for them. My friends help them with their studies, because I can't. I wish to give my kids a better future and opportunites I never had growing up. I don't want to give up on them like my parents gave up on me. Thank you for understanding.
