Letter from the family:
Hello. My name is Maria Celia Gutierrez. First of all, I thank you for giving me the opportunity to apply for a home. I think my request is the same or similar to others in my situation: we dream of having our own house and giving our children a home full of love and joy.
We, my family, which is made up of my husband and my two children, live with my in-laws. We split the expenses, and thank God we already are blessed to pay for our land in order to have something to give our children. But as our situation is getting more and more difficult, we sell tamales and live off of that income. The year 2021 was somewhat difficult for me since I lost my two parents due to Covid 19. I was very disillusioned but had no choice but to move on.
We’ve a floor and a hole for water or sewage on our land because our plans were to build two small rooms so that we could move to live there and no longer pay rent. But due to the illness and death of my parents, we spent our savings. I am the oldest daughter so it was my responsibility to care for the funeral arrangements.
This is why I come asking to begin this year with a new home, and little by little help create a peaceful home. My children are very happy that I have attended your meetings and we have hope that this year we will have our new house, full of love.
I thank you for your big heart and generosity for helping so many people in need. We have been married for 15 years and, like every family, have dreamed of having our own house to no longer pay rent. It has been a burden to pay rent and also make land payments. We thank you for this opportunity. My children and my husband are grateful to God and to you for this new opportunity. God bless you today and always to continue carrying out your great work. God bless you.
