As parents, we believe our obligation is to provide a safe and warm home for our children, we want them to be happy. Right now we are living in a home that continues to fall apart, it’s also very small for our family of 6. Thankfully 3 years ago my husband’s uncle sold us a piece of land that he didn’t want anymore. Although we would love to build our own home, our finances do not allow us to do so. The cost of our land payment, rent, food, school for my children, and utilities causes us to have nothing left over to start building our home. We had been trying to save money but during the pandemic, we were forced to use everything when we both lost our jobs without notice or any compensation. After a few months, we both found work again and we are trying to save money and also continue to make our land payments.
