My name is Hugo, I work in construction and any other job that I can find. My pay varies greatly and depends on whoever is the person hiring me to do a job or project for them. When I work as a contractor’s assistant, sometimes I get paid about $2,500 pesos a week ($120 dollars). I also work peeling tomatoes, they give me $25 pesos a box and in one day, I can do 15 boxes. Everything I earn goes to my family and our bills. I take what I need to pay for my transport to and from work, and then give the rest to my wife for our food and other necessities. My wife takes our son to a place called “City of Children” for his therapy which is expensive. We have additional costs like his schooling and our monthly land payment.
