Thank you for your time, I hope to explain a bit of my family’s situation in this letter. My name is Gustavo and my wife’s name is Yasmín. We both moved to Tijuana when we were young (separately) with our families. In my case, I dropped out of school and started working once I arrived because I wanted to be independent. Unfortunately, I got involved with the wrong people and eventually with drugs. My family knew I wasn’t doing well and chose to put me into a drug rehabilitation center. There I learned where I was heading and had a change of heart. I’m forever grateful to my parents and have tried hard to make them proud ever since. I went back to school and graduated from highschool. Around that time, I met my wife and we have been together ever since. We now have a daughter together and she is our motive for reaching our goals in life. Currently, we have too many bills to be able to pay for our land monthly and also towards building a home amongst many other things. I am now in university studying to be an architect and my wife is finishing highschool. We received a flyer with information about Homes of Hope and were so full of hope that we may qualify.
