Letter from the family:
We’d love to tell you a little about our family story. My husband and I met in high school and we married after we graduated. We both have worked hard to build our life together, we tried to prioritize saving money to be able to buy a piece of land. We became pregnant with our son and moved in with my mom to save money. We still didn’t have the money to buy land but when our son was born, my father in law gifted us a trailer. We moved the trailer close to my husband’s job and I had to stop working to take care of our son full time. One day when I went to the grocery store, our car was stolen. We eventually got it back but they stripped everything from it. We needed to buy new parts and this once again drained our savings for land. The pandemic was very hard on us financially and also, my dad became sick around that time. Once again, all our money went to taking care of my dad. My sister needed a place to stay and came to live with us, she helped take care of my son so I could work. My brother also came to live with us and was medically fragile; he ended up passing away. Our boss learned of our situation and had mercy on us. He told us to look for a piece of land we liked and that he would loan us the money for the down payment.
