Hello!! My name is Elvia, I’m a single mom of two wonderful young men. I have an older daughter but she doesn’t live with me anymore. She has her own family. My grandson loves coming to visit us and stay with us for a couple of days. Our house is not very comfortable or safe but it’s what I have to offer to my children right now. We’ve been living there for the past six months. Our roof leaks and the house is cold and damp when it rains so we have a lot of respiratory issues. My health is also not the best but I haven’t been able to get the help I need. I sell clothes and some food to sustain our little family, but what we make is barely enough for the land payments and some of our expenses. My older daughter helps us sometimes when we don’t have enough but she has her own expenses. My biggest desire is to give a stable and safe home to my children. We heard about Homes of Hope through our neighbors, they received a Home of Hope and when the team came to build someone from the team talked to my youngest son Mateo and invited him to eat and offered help to our family. My son got very excited and thought we could receive a Home of Hope too. So we applied and here we are.
