Hello, first of all, I want to thank you for considering me for this housing application. My name is Mayra Ávila Flores, and I am a single mother of four children. My oldest daughter, Mariana, is 19 years old; my second daughter, Daysi, is 18; my third child, Eleazar, is 13; and my youngest, Cristian, is 9 years old. Four years ago, we came from the city of Puebla, in southern Mexico, in search of a better future. It hasn’t been easy, but thanks to God, we continue moving forward. I know there are many families in need of a home, but I humbly ask for your help because I am a single mother without any support, and all my children are currently in school. A year ago, my youngest son was diagnosed with a heart murmur and needs surgery. All we are missing now are the necessary blood donors so the procedure can take place. For this reason—and for my children’s safety—I ask for your support in helping us secure a safe and dignified home. I trust in God and have faith that He will grant us the home I’ve prayed for. If it’s within your power to help us, my family and I would be forever grateful. Only God knows how much we need this. I dream of living in a house I can finally call my own.
