LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:
Dear Homes of Hope team, I am a single mother of two girls: Leslie, who is about to start elementary school, and Ivanna, who will begin preschool. I have been raising them on my own for four years, and it has been very difficult. Ivanna was born prematurely, and her first two years were very challenging, as she required medication, neurological treatments, lung support, therapy, and rehabilitation. After separating from their father, I rented a room, but due to Ivanna’s special condition, she was not accepted into daycare. Thankfully, my grandmother and an aunt have supported me by caring for my daughters and allowing us to stay in a room in their home so I wouldn’t have to pay rent and could save. However, while my grandmother is a kind-hearted woman, my aunt suffers from schizophrenia and often yells at my daughters, which is not a healthy environment for them. I grew up with my grandmother since my mother was rarely home, and at 16, my aunt forced me out of the house, which makes the situation even more complicated. This is why I am requesting your support so that my daughters can have a place to grow in peace and stability. With my income, I can cover food, education, utilities, and the land payment.
