LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:
Dear Homes of Hope, our oldest son is currently in his first year of high school, and our daughter is in third grade. She was born with hip dysplasia and has had to undergo several surgeries because of it. We are originally from Michoacán, but three years ago we moved to Tijuana due to the wave of violence in our hometown, as well as the fact that cartels were recruiting young people, and we did not want that for our son. We arrived with great hope of achieving a better quality of life and having a home as a family. At first, we lived with my husband’s aunt while he found work, but due to family conflicts, we had to look for a place to rent. This has been one of the most difficult challenges, as rent is very expensive and often landlords ask you to leave on short notice. Transportation is also complicated, as the schools are usually far from where we live. I have knee problems due to a fractured growth cartilage, but I do not mind as long as my children can continue their education. The housing situation led us to purchase a piece of land, and to help with expenses, I started selling at the swap meet. We want a place we can truly call home, where we will not have to keep moving from one place to another. That is why we are asking for your support, as our resources limit our ability to achieve this on our own. May God continue to bless you, and thank you in advance.
