LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:

Dear Homes of Hope team, as a family, we are three people originally from the state of Sinaloa, and all our lives we have worked selling beach items. Since I was very young, my four siblings and I had to work to help our parents. After school, my mother would take us to sell seasonal candy, chewing gum, chips, and mangoes with chili to help cover family expenses. My mother braided hair and sometimes made tamales, while my father made handmade bracelets and, during the low season, worked in construction. Despite the difficulties we faced, our parents raised us with values such as hard work, honesty, unity, and love for family. Eventually, my parents decided to move to Tijuana in search of a better life. As we grew older, each of my siblings started their own families. Unfortunately, the father of my son turned out to be irresponsible and unwilling to work, and when our son was one year old, he abandoned us. I continued working just as I had since childhood and have done everything possible to provide for my son, always with the support of my parents, who cared for him while I worked. Years later, I met my current husband, who had recently arrived from Oaxaca. He also sells items at the beach and is very hardworking; in his free time, he sings as a musician. We got married two years ago and, through much sacrifice and many tears, were able to purchase our piece of land. That is why we sincerely hope for your support. We are people who believe in working hard and finding ways to move forward together as a family. We dream of having a place of our own where we can grow old together and watch our son grow up. Thank you very much.
