LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:
Dear Homes of Hope, our daughters are currently attending school—one is in middle school and the other is in elementary school. We are very happy that they have been able to continue their education this far. It has required many sacrifices, but it has all been worth it. We walk more than half an hour to get them to school every day, but that has never stopped us from moving forward. We are originally from Acapulco, but we have been living in Tijuana for the past six years. At first, we rented a home, but through great effort and sacrifice we were able to purchase a piece of land where we now live. All the hard work was worth it to see part of our dream come true. At the moment, we only have a small room that leaks when it rains and a tiny kitchen. We do not have a concrete floor, and during the Santa Ana winds, a great deal of dust blows into the area where I wash dishes. I do not work because I dedicate my time to caring for our daughters, and my husband’s income is only enough to cover our daily expenses. We continue moving forward little by little, trusting in God and believing that one day our dream of having a proper home will become a reality—a house with windows and doors where our family can feel safe and secure. Thank you so much for your support and consideration.
