LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:
Dear Homes of Hope, writing this letter is not easy, but I believe the time has come to open my heart and share the story that has shaped both my life and my daughter's. From a very young age, my life changed completely when my parents separated, forcing me to grow up quickly and face difficult circumstances at an early age. I remember helping my mother sell marshmallow pops and homemade desserts in local parks to support our family. At the age of 16, I asked my mother for permission to work. Although she was hesitant at first, she eventually agreed, and I found a job at a beauty salon doing manicures. Later, after we moved to a new home, I had to resign and found another opportunity as a cashier. Within two months, I earned a permanent position, and I was proud to help with our household expenses. Some time later, I met a young man online, and I truly believed I had found the person with whom I would build my future. I fell deeply in love and dreamed of starting a family, but when I told him I was pregnant, his reaction was not what I had hoped for, as he was not ready to accept that responsibility. During that difficult time, a friend invited me to move to San Quintín, and I accepted because I felt that staying in Tijuana would only deepen my sadness. Thankfully, my pregnancy was healthy, and while I was there, I supported myself by baking and selling cookies and cupcakes. On December 13, my daughter was born, the greatest blessing God has given me. A few weeks later, I returned to Tijuana to live with my aunt, who encouraged me to sell secondhand clothing so I could continue providing for my daughter. Later, my mother and I decided to purchase a piece of land, and through great effort we saved enough for the down payment, taking an important step toward owning a home. I currently live with my grandmother, but we also share the house with my uncle and other relatives who recently moved in, and our home has become overcrowded. I believe it is time for my daughter and me to have a place of our own while also giving my family the space they need. I will continue working hard and doing everything I can to provide my daughter with a better future, trusting that through perseverance, hard work, and God's guidance, we will overcome every challenge.
