LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:
Dear Homes of Hope, at this time, I do not have a permanent job. I help at a food bank, where in exchange for my assistance I receive a bag of fruits and vegetables and am able to purchase other food items at half price. I also sell different items at local street markets to earn additional income. With great effort and the limited resources available to me, I was able to build a small room where we currently live. My parents live in Chiapas, and because my mother is ill, I try to visit them once a year so I can spend time with them and support them as much as possible. When my oldest son, Erick, was in high school, I worked at a factory, and he helped me by caring for his younger siblings. Because I was able to work during that time, I managed to purchase our piece of land. Later, Erick decided to begin working as well, and because our schedules were no longer compatible, I had no one available to care for my two younger children. As a result, I had to leave my job to care for them. Erick is a hardworking young man who wants to continue his education, and he is currently working and saving money because his dream is to attend college. As his mother, I want to support him in achieving that goal while also providing a safe and stable environment for my younger children. Having a dignified and secure home would be an incredible blessing for our family. It would give my children a safe place to grow and provide Erick with greater stability as he continues working toward his dream of attending college. Despite our challenges, we continue doing everything we can to move forward. Thank you sincerely for taking the time to learn about our story and for considering our application.
