Letter from the family:
This is a handwritten letter about my situation. I am originally from Guerrero but I arrived in Tijuana seven years ago, because in Guerrero there are no jobs and no way to create a good life for yourself. In Tijuana it was really hard for me to find a job because I did not read or write well and I didn’t speak Spanish very well… but I found a job at an ice cream shop and I stayed there to work for a while. However, I was not able to save any money in that time as I was struggling in some areas of my life. About two years ago I met my wife and we decided to get together and we started to go to church together. This is what totally changed my life. I’ve spent the past 2 years working while my wife has been taking care of our two babies. We were really struggling for awhile as my income was not enough to cover the rent of our house… so we decided to start to make payments on a small piece of land and created a small shelter because we could not afford the rent of our last place as well as food, diapers and milk for our kids. We really need your support and help to be able to get to the next level of having a proper home built on our property. We don’t have enough left over after all of our necessities to build a home. We really want our kids to grow up in a secure place and we don’t want them to know how much we struggle to provide for them… we want so much to provide them a peaceful and safe home.
