Letter From the Family:

Hi,

I am a person of very little economic resources. I have little children that are depending on their parents. I do not have a job because I dedicate my time for the kids, so we depend on my husband. He works as a street vendor but his sales have been low lately. Sometimes we don't have any food to feed our children. We ask for your hand to help us by giving us a home.

I hope that this moves your heart. As a desperate mother, I don't know what else to do to better the quality of life for my family.

Letter From the Family:

First and foremost I'd like to send you all a warm greeting and many blessings.

We arrived to Rosarito eight years ago and we are orginally from the state of Guerrero. We came here searching for a better way of living, leaving everything behind. When we arrived here we realized that rent is super expensive and what my husband earns at his work is not enough for us to even pay our rent.

We came to the Colonia Ramos and we started asking everybody where we could find a place to rent. I lady that we met lent us a house to stay because she saw that we were desperate to find a home. She said we could stay there as long as my girls didn't draw on the walls, and we couldn't have any pets. I thanked her for letting us stay there and I was thankful that God provided us a place to stay but then they gave us the news that we had to get out as soon as possible because her family members from the southern parts of Mexico were going to come and live where we were at. I felt like my world was crumbling underneath me and a wave of sadness and worry fell over me. All I could think was... "Where is my family going to live... where?"

The good that I can get out of this tragic time is that my husband was able to apply for a loan from the bank and we were able to make a down payment on a plot of land. Now we have our land but we don't have any more money to build anything on it...

My youngest daughter has also written you a letter asking for toy because neither of my girls know that the lady wants to kick us out of where we have been living. Our daughters are the engine of our lives, they are what keep my husband and I going in life. We haven't seen our parents or family members for eight years since we left. They've told us that they want to come a visit us but where would we put them? Our daughters ask their Dad often when they will have their own room and not have to share with us.

I know that God exsits and that faith and hope is the last thing that we can give up. We are praying that God will make it possible for you all to help our family live in our own home. God Bless you all. -Beatriz

Hi, my name is Magdalena and I am 10 years old. I'm in the forth year of primary school(the MX version of elementary) and I live in a house that a lady lets us stay in. It's been six years now that I have been waiting for my parents to have the chance and money to build us our own home but they pay my dad very little where he works. When I was six years old I wrote a letter to God and to Santa Claus asking them for a house for Christmas where my family could live. It's always been my dream to have my own house because all the other kids at school have their own where they can play with their pets and have friends over. I have been praying that you all could build me a home so that I could have my doggy safe and so my parents will stop worrying. I promise to take care of my house and be thankful for the roof over my head. I told my dad to get really pretty paint so that my house will be the prettiest. When we have our house I will be able to see my grandparents again. My parents didn't tell us that the lady already wanted the house that we're living in but we overheard them talking one night about how worried they were... I decided to write a letter too. Now I'm so so thankful and when they called my mom to tell her that we were going to recieve our house all we could do was cry tears of joy. Thank you for our house. God bless you all.

God bless you. I am asking for a home, we have been paying off our land. Right now we live in a small room. We have reduced the amount of things we have because it is small and we all live here, my husband, son, brother, mother, and I. We have lived here for 10 years. My husband doesn't make as much as he used to at his work. My son ever since he was born has gotten sick a lot and so we have had to pay to take him to the doctor. My mother also has diabetes and has treatment for that. My brother is studying now as well.

For all these reasons we ask God for a new home.

Sincerely, Sharai
