Letter from the family:
To all who are part of Homes of Hope I will like to share a little bit of my personal story.
I am from Tepachula, Chiapas in South Mexico. I have three children, two boys and a girl. In 2006 I had problems with my wife and we decided to separate from each other and she went to live with her mother and the children, during three years I did not know where they were or anything about them until I finally knew they were here in Tijuana, so I came looking for them. Once I found them my ex-wife and myself spoke and came to the agreement that I could have them for a month, so I took them to south Mexico to spend some time with them, when it was time to come back, my children did not wanted to go back to their mother who was already remarried and had another child.
They stayed with me in South Mexico, my mother helped me to take care of them and they were taken to school because they did not know how to read or write, sadly two years ago I had to move back to Tijuana because of the economic situation in South Mexico is very difficult I couldn’t afford to take care of my children with the little money I was making, when I came to Tijuana I was renting a little room with my brother in law and my nephew, but they got a land and we helped them with the down payment, so we all live in a small room, but he is bringing his wife back with him from the south, so we need to move out, I have requested help from the government, but they need the mother to request not the father, because the little money I make has to be sent to my family and mother in the South because I have two brothers in need of dialysis and my oldest daughter is going to school to become a nurse, even when she goes to a public school, she still needs help to pay for her needs and school, sometimes I end my days without anything left and needing my children to be here so we can be a family.
I really want to be close to my family and be able to live in a safe place, especially knowing that there are hard times ahead and we need to be together to help each other.
