Letter from the family:

Hello!! We are the Aguilar Ramos Family. In 2021 we began with this dream of having our own home in order to stop paying rent. We started by saving to give the down payment. Then on the weekends we would go to our land to work leveling it. It took a lot of effort and money. Sometimes we were discouraged and we wanted to give up cause we had to do it with our own hands since renting a machine to do it is very expensive. We also wanted to save money by doing it ourselves so we even did the septic tank and the retaining wall ourselves. Our cousin’s house is next to our land and when she had to move out she allowed us to live there for free so we could keep investing in our own piece of land. Now conditioning the land cost us a lot of money too. We took a loan to do that but it was not enough. The roof still leaks and we don't have a bathroom so we have to walk to our land to use the bathroom. We still have the dream of building our own home in our little piece of land and we would love for you to help us accomplish this great dream of having a home that’s peaceful and safe for our children. We are working really hard to accomplish this and with God’s help we know it will be possible. Thank you so much for your help!!!!

Letter from the family:

Hello! We are the Carlos Rivera family. We’ve been living in our land for the past 8 years in a house that was built there years ago before we moved in. It’s a very old damaged house. The roof leaks and the walls are not properly sealed. When it's winter it’s very cold and damp even inside. Our roof has to have a tarp so we don’t get so much water inside the house. We moved to our land because the rents were very high and we couldn’t afford them anymore. So we did what we could to condition the house and moved in. The government helped us with money to build our bathroom and to buy some drywalls for the inside of the house but the structure itself is very damaged and old so the improvements didn’t last much. With our own income we haven’t been able to improve the house that’s why we come to you to ask for help. We want to feel safe inside our house and live in better conditions than the ones we currently live in. So receiving a Home of Hope would be such a wonderful help for us. Thank you so much for considering us and for all of your support!

Letter from the family:

Hello!! We are a family from a small town in the south of Mexico. We left because our life there was very complicated. There’s not a lot of job or education opportunities and it’s very underdeveloped in many ways. One day my husband and I talked about leaving to find a better life and so we came to Tijuana. At the beginning it was very hard to find a job but we didn’t give up. Our children really wanted to go to school, that's one of the reasons we came to the city. Thank God we were able to enroll them in school and now they know how to read and write. We are very happy for them because we want them to have access to education so when they grow up they can get a good job and have better income. Later on we were able to find a piece of land for our little family. Our dream is for our children to live in a peaceful place where they can be safe and happy. That;s why we come to you to ask for your help. Where we currently live, when it rains water leaks everywhere and it creates a lot of humidity and that’s affecting our health, apart from the fact that it’s very cold at night. Our salary hasn’t been enough to put a concrete floor on our house so the floor is very uneven. Our children often ask us if one day we will be able to have a home and we just tell them they need to be patient. That’s why we come to you, thank you for reading our letter and for considering our petition.

FATHER: Marco Antonio

CHILDREN

German - 7 years old

Juan - 8 years old

Cindy - 14 years old

Letter from the family:

Hello!!! My name is Patricia, our family had been paying rent for a long time so with some help from my family, my husband and I built the house we currently live in in our land. We haven’t had enough money to condition it well so when it rains the roof leaks a lot and water also comes through the walls. Our floor is not perfectly built so water runs through the ground too and it makes our children feel unsafe even inside the house. Last year I heard about Homes of Hope and I started praying every night for God to bless us with a comfortable home for my children where they could sleep warm and without fear. In our area we would see other houses being built and my children would tell me: “mom we want a house as beautiful as that one too”. I told them to pray to God and they have been praying every night since then. We know that He can do it. I thank you with all my heart for considering us for a Home of Hope. We are very excited and happy for this opportunity!

Letter from the family:

Hello!! We are the family Sandoval Alaniz, we’ve been living in Tijuana for the past 12 years, we are originally from the south of Mexico. When we got here my husband would work in the morning and I would work at night so we could take care of our son. Later on we had our daughter. We’ve always worked very hard and we’ve wanted a house of our own for a long time but no matter how hard we try, things happen and we can’t do it. We’ve tried to be generous even in the middle of our own needs. When the pandemic happened we also went through a lot of financial problems. My husband lost his job and eventually I did too. We started asking for loans and our debt kept growing and growing. My mother in law got sick and that left us with even more debt. We are currently paying our debt, the land, our rent, the kids' schools and our other house expenses. That's why we haven’t had enough to build something in our land. Sometimes we are in pain and anguish because we feel powerless under the circumstances, but we will keep searching for more of God, we know he has a purpose for us and we will keep looking for that. Thank you so much for considering us for a Hope of Hope!!!

MOTHER: Leslie

Age: 19 years old

Job: Stay at Home mom

FATHER: Obed

Age: 27 years old

Job: Factory

salary weekly: $200 US

CHILDREN

Gael - 1 year old

Letter from the family:

Hello!! We are the Rosas Vasquez family. We write to you to ask for your help to receive a home because our actual living conditions are very bad. We have a little baby and it’s consuming all of my wife’s time. She had to leave university because of this. I heard about Homes of Hope through some neighbors and I couldn’t believe it. In the last few years we’ve been living in a little room with our family. There we only have space for our clothes, we don’t have a bathroom or a kitchen and it’s on the second floor. There’s a lot of humidity in the room and when it rains it becomes worse in many ways. I’m at a point in my life where I don’t know what else to do. Our situation is very unfortunate and we need your help. In the last few months our baby got sick because of the cold and that has exceeded our expenses. We’ve had our piece of land for a while but we still haven’t been able to build anything. I want to give my family and home and stability and I know God is big and he can help me do this. I know he has good things prepared for us and he knows our current situation. Right now only I can work because my wife is with the baby. She used to help me selling things and cutting hair but right now she’s too busy with the baby. She wants to re take her studies in the future but right now our situation is very complicated. I feel like I don’t have any right to ask God for help, it’s only been in the last few years that I have drawn near to him but I’m desperate. When it’s not one thing is another. They recently detected a cyst in our baby’s hand and we’ve been taking him to get studies. My wife and I have cried together and prayed to God and we know He will help us. Thank you so much for your time and for considering our petition, God bless you always!!!

Age: 42 years old

Job: Security guard

Carla - 17 years old

Letter from the family:

Hello! We are a family from the south of Mexico. We left home after losing everything in our town. We got scammed by a family member and lost our house, the one we had built with a lot of effort. We lost family members, our economic stability and many things. So with the little we had we decided to embark to start again in Tijuana. We sold the little we had and in our old car we drove from Chihuahua to Tijuana. We didn’t know anybody here but we started renting a little room. At the beginning we would sleep on the floor. It was a very hard few months, but we also got to know God in a deeper way. My husband and my daughter were working selling snacks in the streets while I was working in a pinata factory. We wanted to follow God and start attending a church, so we prayed and through a neighbor we started going to a church meeting on Tuesday and that’s how we met some of the YWAMers. They helped us and even gave my husband a stable job at the ywam base as a security guard. My husband has diabetes so it’s a great blessing that he gets to have a job with medical insurance. We currently live in a borrowed trailer in a land that’s not ours. We pay for the bills and we take care of the owners house and garden in return. Not paying rent allowed us to save for a down payment for our own piece of land and we’ve been giving monthly land payments. Still our living conditions are not the best. The trailer is very small and our daughter is a teenager. We would love for her to have her own space and we would like to have some privacy for ourselves too. That’s why we come to you to ask for your help. Our future is very uncertain cause we could get asked to leave at any moment but we know God has taken care of us until this day and he will continue. Our daughter wants to study to be a doctor and having a stable and comfortable home would be such a great way of supporting her so she can accomplish her dream. We are praying for this home and for you guys, thank you so much for everything you do to help families like ours!!!

Age: 44 years old

Luna - 4 years old

Letter from the family:

Hello!!! My name Nallely, I’m a wife and a mom of a little 4 year old girl. The story of why my husband can’t be physically with us is very complicated but you can ask me more when we meet in person. My mom has been a great help to us during this season. My daughter and I live with her and she helps me take care of her while I work sometimes. I do many different jobs, sometimes I work as a manicurist, sometimes I sell things and other times I clean houses. All those jobs help me be close and available for my daughter. Living with my mother has helped us so much in our economy because we don’t have to pay rent. I met my husband through one of my clients, she introduced me to him and we’ve been together for the past 7 years. After a long time of waiting and wanting, I got pregnant and it’s been a true gift from God but also it’s been a challenge to have to raise our daughter by myself. Our families have helped but still it hasn’t been easy to parent alone for so long. In my moms’s house there’s a lot of other people living too and some of them want to influence in the way I raise my child. My daughter and I really long to have a place of our own and some privacy. We want emotional and economical stability and we know one day when my husband can be with us we will have it. Thank you so much for considering us for a Home of Hope in the mean time. It would be such a great joy to receive this wonderful gift, God bless you always!!!

FAMILY INFORMATION:

MOTHER: Rosaura

Age: 39 years old

Job: Gas Station

salary weekly: $220 US

Laila - 13 years old

Letter from the family:

Hello!! My name is Rosaura Espiritu, I’m a single mom of three wonderful children. Two of them are adults and live with my family and study in the south of Mexico and one of them, the minor, lives with me. I started coming to Tijuana back in 2019 in search of a better life and better opportunities. The salaries where I come from were not enough to sustain all of my children and their school expenses so I had to move. At first I had to leave without them and I would send them the money for their expenses. Since then, I’ve had to go back to my city a couple times because my parents have gotten sick and I wanted to support them. But with my sick parents and my salary again not being enough to help them buy medications I had to go back to Tijuana to be able to provide for all of that. Seeing our situation and that the rents were very expensive in Tijuana and constantly going up I decided to buy a piece of land for me and my children. My biggest desire is to have all of my children with me one day in our own home. My daughter and I are currently renting near our land but our dream is to be able to live in our land in something that belongs to us so we don’t have to be moving around constantly. I’ve tried to save to do it on my own but things always come up and I end up spending the money on something else. But God knows our desire and I know his times are perfect. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and to consider our petition, God bless you!!

Letter from the family:

Hello!! We are the Bravo Gonzalez family, we ask for your help because our need is great. We are living in a small room someone lent us for a short term. Our time there is running out and we don’t know where we will go. We have a two-month- old baby and we fear for his safety. Our income is very low and we don’t have enough to build a house on our own. Right now only my husband is working and he’s sustaining our family. I can’t work because I have to take care of the baby. The room we’re currently living in has some holes on the walls so it’s very cold and it affects the baby’s health. We try to put clothes on the holes to prevent the cold from coming in and the mosquitos but it doesn’t help much. When it rains our roof leaks and there’s a lot of humidity in the walls and in the floor. We don’t have any windows so on very hot days the room is suffocating. We have to share the bathroom and kitchen with the family we live with, so there’s not a lot of privacy for either of us. We are a small family who dream to have their own home. Sadly we haven’t been able to save enough to build something on our own. We don’t want our children to spend their childhood moving from place to place. We wait in God to receive the miracle of a home. Thank you so much for considering our petition, God bless you.

Before anything else, we want to thank you so much for this opportunity and the support you give to families like ours. We are a family of 5, 3 little girls and my husband and I. On June 22nd we received a very sad call, telling us our home that we had built with a lot of effort was on fire. The fire started with a neighbor and it reached our house. When we found out it was too late to do anything. But even in the middle of our pain and our questioning we have hope and we’ve seen God’s hand with us. We work very hard and we serve God and we know he’s always working in our favor. It has been a very painful process but we know he’s in control and we have hope that everything has a purpose. A lot of our memories we had made in that home were burned but we know in our new house we’ll make new memories too. We thought it was the end, we felt lost, but it was only the beginning of a new story for our family. Even a couple hours after our tragedy we received a call from Homes of Hope and we are so so grateful for everything, thank you for this new beginning for our family!!!

Letter from the family:

Hello! My name is Cristihan Yoel Francisco Leon, it’s a pleasure to write to you and greet you. And I hope this letter finds you and you can learn what I’ve been living all this time. I am from the south of Mexico and because of the economy there me and my family left in search of a better life and a better future. When I turned 18 I left my home to start my own family. I met my wife and we started a family, five children later we are still together and growing in the good times and in the bad times. Everything was going well until the rent went very high at the place we were living in and we weren’t able to sustain ourselves anymore. My debt increased and one day when I came back from work my family was outside the house with all of our stuff. They kicked us out. I searched for a place to stay but without money and no one to help it was very hard. Eventually we landed in a piece of land and we built a little room there to stay until we could know what to do. Later on we bought the land we are currently living in and we moved there. We’re still making land payments for it. Sometimes it is very hard with the land payments, school expenses, food, sickness and everything in between but I know the Lord will continue helping me. I just want a place for my children where they can be warm and safe. I will continue working hard and I know God will not abandon us or forget about us. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter, I will keep on fighting because I know God is with me and he doesn’t let me fall down.
