LETTER FROM THE FAMILY: Hello Homes of Hope, my name is Eugenia, I am 42 years old and I am from the south of Mexico. To whom it may concern, I send my warmest greetings and I hope you are doing well. To start, I want to thank you for taking us into account in this process. I express that my story is long, and I will share it below. We are from the state of Guerrero, and like many families that come to the border to have a better chance in life, we are another family that came for the same reason. Because we are a family with limited resources and the economy in this state is low. In the neighborhood where we lived, there was so much insecurity that we could no longer go out on the streets, and that was another reason why we came to Tijuana to start a new life. We came here four years ago, and our intention at first was to save enough money to go back to the South. Because the rent here is very expensive. And no matter how much my husband worked, we would not be able to cover many of the expenses. At that time, I could not contribute much because I was taking care of my youngest son. Unfortunately, due to lack of finances, only one of my two children continued his studies. The truth is that we went through many economic hardships, including my mother-in-law's illness, so we ended up with unexpected expenses. We ended up in such great need that we decided to look for land here so that we could start investing in something of our own and reduce our expenses. However, the unexpected expenses did not stop coming. Because we needed financial support, my oldest son left high school and started working to help the family. We are now living in a temporary wooden house that we built on our land. These are some of the many reasons why we are asking for your support, as we cannot realize the dream of having a house on our own. We would be very grateful for your support, I would like to add that we are taking care of a nephew since my sister separated from my brother-in-law some time ago and my brother-in-law brought the child here to Tijuana and well, since my sister stayed in the south she left him with us and that is why we are taking care of him, my brother-in-law sometimes contributes something to the child and sometimes not so we have to take care of the expenses of the child, he continues to attend school so there are times when it is very difficult for us to be able to cover all the necessary expenses of the house. Without further ado, I am grateful for the blessing of considering us and giving us the hope of having a better place to live, thank you for taking the time to read our story and the reason for our request. God bless you always.

FAMILY INFORMATION:

MOTHER: Jazmin

Age: 21 years old

FATHER: Armando

Age: 30 years old

Job: upholstery factory

Salary Weekly: $190 US

CHILDREN

Yosiry - 6 years old

Letter from the family: Hello Homes of Hope, my name is Jazmin and I am 21 years old. To whom it may concern, I send my warmest greetings and I hope you are doing well. My family consists of my partner Armando Diaz Gonzalez, your servant, Jazmin Nicolas Catañeda and our son Yosiry Dael Diaz Nicolas, who is 6 years old. My partner works in an upholstery factory from Monday to Friday and rests on weekends. I do not have a job at the moment because our son was diagnosed with Down Syndrome when he was little. He is a very happy child. He attends a special care school, so I have to be there with him all the time, so I am not working at the moment. We live in a rented house and two years ago we decided to buy a piece of land because we would like to have our own house. We would like to give our son a good place where he can grow up safely. We cannot build right now because, as you can imagine, it is very difficult for us to save money since we have needs that we have to cover as a priority, such as land, food, rent, my son's school, among others. We would like to have the privilege of receiving a house, because as I said before, it is difficult for us to make this dream come true, since many things prevent us from doing so. But regardless of the difficulties that arise, we will always fight, as we have always done, to make this dream come true. Without further ado, we thank you for taking the time to read our story and the reason for our request. We are eternally grateful to you, your friends, the Diaz Nicolas family.

Age: 28 years old

FATHER: Jose

Age: 35 years old

Job: Warehouse

Salary weekly: $150 US

CHILDREN:

Itzel - 6 years old

Aylin - 1 years old

LETTER FROM THE FAMILY: Hello Homes of Hope, my name is Anabelly, I am 28 years old. It is a pleasure to greet you. I would like to send you a warm greeting and I hope you are doing well. My family is made up of my husband Jose Juventino Molina Dominguez, your servant, Anabelly Lizeth Miranda Escobar and our two beautiful girls: Itzel Naomi is 6 years old, and the younger Aylin Isabel, is barely 1 year old. I am writing to you to ask for your help in building a house because we are a family in need. Previously, we were constantly moving from one rented house to another, but thank God He gave us the opportunity to buy a piece of land and start paying for it monthly. We are currently living on our land where we built a wooden house with a plastic tarp. Thank God, our pastors put us up in their house while we repaired the house we had laboriously built, and the brothers of the church were also very generous in helping us, giving us tin and tarps to protect us from the wind and rain. It has been difficult to move forward since only my husband works and I am the one who takes my oldest daughter to and from school. Now we have electricity because our pastors lend us their service. But we would like to have our own electricity. And as you can imagine, there are many things we would like to do or give to our daughters. But for the same reason that we do not have the ability to make these dreams come true, we come to you to ask for your support. I would like to see us as a family have a better place where we would be more comfortable and safer. Without further ado, I am grateful for the blessing of considering us and giving us the hope of having a safer home in a better condition. May God always bless you greatly.

The truth is that there are times when we can only meet the needs of the day but what gives us the most joy is seeing our little kid. And we are happy to see him take his first steps in a better place, a house on our property. We thank God for the work you are doing to help those who need it most. We will always be grateful to you for allowing us to be part of the story of Homes of Hope. Again, we thank God and wish that He will always bless you greatly. LETTER FROM THE FAMILY: Hello Homes of Hope, my name is Dulce, I am 21 years old and I am a mother of two children. It would be a great blessing for me and my family to have a house to live in because we have been living in our parents' house for a long time. But their house is small, and as my family has grown, we would like to have our own space with privacy. That is why we went to rent a place. Unfortunately, the rent increased so much that we could no longer afford it. With sacrifices and the help of God and our parents, we bought a piece of land to have our own house. However, we have not been able to build yet, but we continue to trust in God to provide for our needs. Since we are a family with scarce resources, I come to you and ask for your support to have a home to live in. Salary weekly: $70 US

FATHER: Santos

Age: 49 years old

Job: Construction worker

Salary weekly: $160 US

CHILDREN:

Alondra - 19 years old

Betsy - 16 years old

LETTER FROM THE FAMILY: Hello Homes of Hope my name is Santos. I am 49 years old and together with my family we are writing you the following letter. I have kindly asked for your support to be able to have a better house since we are a family with limited resources. We are a hard-working family that has gone through many unpleasant situations. First we lived in a sister's house who later kicked us out of her house even though she knew I had nowhere to be with my family. But thanks to God a person lent us a space to build a house, which unfortunately this same person later asked us to vacate her land. That was when my family and I decided to buy a piece of land, which I am still paying for. While my wife and daughters sell peanuts and other snacks at the traffic lights, I work at the cemetery. With our salaries we managed to pay the down payment on the land we own right now. And so we built a house on the site with pieces of wood. We are currently living on our land, last time the power went out. But I firmly believe that God has put you guys on our path to give us the blessing of having a better house. My house is made up of pieces of wood and plastic tarps. When it rains, water gets in from underneath as our house has no floor. Our family has not received any support from any other organization. Sometimes I start to cry because I cannot give my family a better home, and on birthdays I cannot give them a gift. I am already tired, so I ask you from the bottom of my heart to help me. Thank you so much for considering us for a Home of Hope!

Alexander - 4 years old

OTHER PEOPLE LIVING WITH THE FAMILY:

Maricela (sister) - 26 years old

LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:

Hello Homes of Hope my name is Norma, I am 30 years old, I am from a state in the south of Mexico. I am a single mother of two children. I have been living in Tijuana for five years. Previously I was renting but they did not accept children. So I had to look for another place. Unfortunately I was not able to find another option where I could live because everywhere I went they told me that they did not accept children, the places were too small or the rent was too high; so my budget was not enough to cover this or the other needs that I had to meet. This is why I made the decision to buy a piece of land. Because of my current situation, building a house is too expensive and my salary is low. So it is not possible for me to provide my children with a good place where they can be safe. When I found out about the support that Homes of Hope provided it was very encouraging for me. I am currently living on my land with my two children, in a room that I was able to build with a lot of work. I wish we could be in a place where we had more space and where it is safer. We have gone through sad situations, also happy ones, but we never forget to look towards God and ask for His help. Thank you so much for considering our family for this wonderful gift. God bless you so much!

Luis Tadeo - 8 years old

Fernanda - 6 years old

Letter from the family: Hello!! My name is Liliana, I’m a mom of two wonderful kids named Luis and Fernanda. My mom and my stepfather live with us too. We’ve been in Tijuana for the past 3 years, we come from the south of Mexico. We are a very hardworking family. Back in our city we worked on sales but during the pandemic our business was heavily affected and we lost it. In an attempt to pay for our debts we had to sell our house. We have some family in Tijuana so we decided to come and to start again. I’ve been a single mom for the past 6 years because my husband was abusive towards me and had many addictions. I tried to help him and I forgave him many times even after hitting me when pregnant and hurting my children in many ways. When I got here to this city we were living with my aunt for 6 months and then we started to rent separately. Tired of renting for two years I started saving for a down payment and bought my own piece of land to pay for it monthly. A friend gave me some wood and my step dad helped me build a little room to move into my land. Then when everything was ready I asked my mom and stepdad to come live with me since I didn’t have anyone to be with my children while I was at work. So I do my monthly payments and between the three of us we buy groceries. Our house is very humble and when the wind blows sometimes it feels like it is going to fall because it is not properly built. Our roof doesn’t have protection and every night it leaks with the night mist. My biggest dream is to give my children a beautiful home. That's why I come to you to ask for your help, we would be so grateful if you could give us a Home of Hope. God bless you and thank you so much!!!

Angel - 11 years old

Maricela - 5 years old

Letter from the family:

Hello! My name is Gustavo and my wife’s name is Alondra. We have two children Angel and Maricela. My wife and I met in 2011 when I was only 15 and she was 13, that’s when our love story started. We started dating and one year later we were pregnant. I was so scared when she gave me the news, I didn’t know what it was like to be a father or to raise a child. She was also scared but we faced it with responsibility and in December 11 of 2013 our beautiful son was born. He’s 11 years old now and I still call him my baby even if he doesn’t like him a lot. At my age it was very hard to find a job. Sometimes I used to work with my father in law in construction and sometimes I would do other jobs, but they would always underpay me because of my age. It was a very hard beginning for us. The day I turned 18 I was able to get my ID and I went that exact day because I really wanted to have a job with health insurance and other benefits for my family. Then we were able to become independent since we were living with my wife’s family at the beginning, to whom we will always be grateful for helping us at the beginning. That same year we became pregnant with our second child, our princess Maricela. It was then that we started dreaming of having our own home, because at this point we both started working to be able to cover all of our expenses. With a lot of effort we were able to save enough money for a downpayment for a piece of land. We were so happy because finally we were going to be free from paying rent. We took a bank loan and we started building a home. We had placed some of the wooden walls but overnight people came and stole them. We cried a lot because we had put a lot of effort into it and we were still paying for the loan, the land monthly payments, rent and our daily expenses. Thank God a little after that we heard about Homes of Hope and we applied. It would be our dream come true to receive the gift of a Home. God bless you so much!

Letter from the family:

Hello my name is Monserrat Chavez. My family and I arrived to Tijuana in 2015 in search of a better life and fleeing the insecurity from our city Apatzingan, Michoacan; where everyday there are attacks between the cartels and the police. So we decided to look for refuge and a new life in Tijuana. We had also heard there were a lot of job opportunities here do to the many factories so with the little money we had saved we came and we started renting a small room. It was hard for the first years since we didn’t have anyone in the city. Someone to run to if things got hard and we had all of the intentions to work in the factories; but it was very time consuming and our children could not be by themselves for that long. In the end only my husband continued working and I had to stay home taking care of the children since they were little. After a couple years I started selling in the flea market and buying and reselling clothes so then we decided to put more work into sales so we could spend more time with our children. We continue working very hard so we can be close to our family with all the intentions of growing and being an example for them. Thank you so much for considering our family for this wonderful gift, it would really change our lives to receive a Home of Hope.

We rent two rooms in this house and we share the common spaces. We own a couple furniture items but only what’s indispensable. We’ve been working really hard to prepare our land to build a house because our children dream of living in the privacy of their own home. My health is not very good I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and arthritis and that has increased our expenses. Thank God I have a temporary job that is giving me insurance and that's covering all of my medical expenses. Receiving a Home of Hope would give our children the stability they deserve. Letter from the family:

Hello!!! My name is Erika, I’m a single working mom and I have a great dream of giving my son a comfortable home. One that doesn’t get wet and cold when it rains. It breaks my heart to see our situation sometimes and what my son has to go through with me. It’s hard for us to save money to improve our house because of all of our expenses. The most important thing for me right now it’s my son's education and I'm trying to give him everything he needs concerning that. I just want him to have a good future when I’m not here. We moved to our piece of land when my son was 5 years old. It was a very expensive piece of land and it was hard to make the monthly payments but I haven’t stopped working, even extra hours to make the payments on time. But I can’t work at peace because sometimes I have to leave my son alone at home and I get out of work pretty late at night. It’s hard for my son to be alone at home because the house is not very safe and the area either. Our roof leaks when it rains and creaks with the wind. My son’s dream is to have a lot of money so I don’t have to work and can stay with him. He also longs to have his own room and some privacy. I thank you for this opportunity and for everything you do for families like ours. God bless you!!!

Letter from the family:

Hello!! We are a family from the south of Mexico. I met my wife when I was 17 and she was 16. We started living together when I was 19 and she was 18. We didn’t have a place of our own so we lived with her mom for a while. We had some disagreements with my wife’s family so we left and we started again from scratch living in a little wood house that belonged to one of my wife’s sisters. We literally had nothing. At that time I was working in the fields and sometimes my wife would come to help me too. We would harvest tomatoes and plant corn and rice when it was the season for it. Soon my wife got pregnant with our first son and because there were not enough work opportunities in our town, I left in search of the American dream so I could give a proper home to my wife and son. I left when my wife was 7 months pregnant and I asked my mom to take care of her while I was aways. I tried to cross the border but I didn’t make it across so I came back and soon my wife had our baby. After I had our baby in my arms I gave up on the American Dream and never again tried to leave. I kept working at the fields harvesting sugar canes and mango, during the season. Some seasons there was no work and it was hard for us but God would always help us giving us strength for every day. When our son turned 5 we decided to have another one and my wife gave birth to a beautiful baby girl we named Maria Fernanda. Money was tight at that time because our first born was starting to go to school and on top of that we had to buy diapers and milk and everything the baby needed. Our situation was very desperate and I heard from a friend that in Tijuana there were a lot of work opportunities and the salaries were better than working in the fields, so I left alone and then found a way to bring my wife and children to be with me. We started again from scratch. Years passed by and both kids now were enrolled in school so now we had more expenses so my wife started to work too. Then my wife became pregnant with our third child during the pandemic and because of the pandemic she lost her job. I was able to keep my job thank God. Our family was growing and our oldest son wanted his own space. We could barely fit in the room we were in. The landlord soon asked us to leave and we had to look for another place, it was even smaller than the first one. The walls and roof were bad and it would leak everywhere during the rainy season. The room would get very cold and damp and our little girl started to get sick because of it and then our son too so we decided it was time to purchase a piece of land so we could stop paying rent. We asked for a loan to give the downpayment and make a little room and we left to live in our own land. During the rainy season this room would also leak and get very damp and cold, our floor was still made of dirt so it would get very muddy inside. My wife asked for another loan to make a concrete floor so the children would not get sick. Later my wife's sister also came to live with us so we were even more tight. We're trying to lend them a hand but our space is very reduced. Our children would love to have more space and privacy, they ask us for more but it doesn’t matter how hard we work, we can’t make it. We do our best but we can’t. A neighbor told us about Homes of Hope and that’s why we are here asking for your help. We’re trying really hard to give our children the best we have and they really long to have a better home. Soon our youngest will start going to school too and our expenses will be even more. With God’s help we hope we can receive this home. We put everything in God’s hands and we pray that his will may be done. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story.

Letter from the family:

Hello!! We are the Ramos Martinez family, we come to you to ask for a Home of Hope because we are a low income family and we don’t have the resources to build something of our own. We are a family of 5, three children and me and my husband. Right now we live with the pastors of the church we attend, thank God and them we have a roof over our heads. We’ve acquired a piece of land in the same area and we are paying it with a lot of effort because we want to be able to leave something to our children in the future. It’s still very hard because my partner is the only one working in our household, since my health is very bad and I can’t work. Our dream is to provide our children with a safe and good home where they can grow and develop. Thank you for reading our petition, God bless you and multiply you always.
