She had terrible stomach pains and was on treatment for the sickness. Back then the family had insurance, but upon finishing the treatment for their daughter, they lost the insurance and that caused a lot of problems. They were left with a lot of medical expenses to cover. The doctors do not know if Yaneth is cured because Josefina and Leonardo haven't had the money needed in order to do the follow-up tests. 
Josefina bought a small piece of land 4 years ago for $1,700 dollars, and that is where they have lived for the last 3 years. They live in a small house made out of scrap pieces of wood. Before buying their piece of property, they rented a house for $60 USD a month, but that was difficult for them, so they decided to buy a tiny piece of land through credit. Up till now, they have been paying off their land and now only owe $1,462 USD of the $2,016 USD that it cost them to buy it.

Ivan works at an assembly factory assembling medical products. He works Monday to Friday, from 5pm to 2am and earns $69 USD weekly.

Their family lives in a little room that Ivan bought the products for and built himself. The roof is made from wood planks and a tarp, and a dirt floor. Their property comes with electricity but there is no water, so every two days they have to buy water. A container of water costs them $1 USD so they pay $4 for 4 containers.

Ivan and Aurelia desire to have a home for their children and as a family so they can overcome their situation.

Martha's girls go to school and as she works every day, her mother takes care of them so she is able to work. Martha's parents live close to where they live.

Martha's ex-husband does not help her financially and sometimes he calls them by phone, but the girls do not want to speak with him.

Soon she got together with a man and they moved in together, but this one fell into drugs and stopped working. After two and a half years of paying for this lot, she lost it because the man that was living with her did not help with making two of the payments. So she separated from him even though she was pregnant with their daughter.

Later she got together with Valencio and he gave her some property. Now that Libia has a lot in her name, she wants to build a home.

Family Story:

Julio and Sandra met in San Luis and they dated for three months and then got married. After they had their first child they moved to Ensenada. Sandra already had a daughter from her past marriage.  She separated from her past husband because he was very irresponsible. They were able to buy a property and moved into it in February.
