Letter from the family:

I would like to tell you a little bit about my life, and about my family. I came to Rosarito in 2006, I’m from a family of 13 brothers and sisters. We were very poor and my mom sent me away to find work with some people that she had met. It turned out to be a bad situation where I ended up in forced and unpaid labor for an extended amount of time. Thankfully, I believe God sent an angel my way who rescued me and gave me a place to live. They saved me. I stayed with that person until I turned 18. Shortly after that, I met the father of my first child, a son. During the pregnancy with my son, the relationship turned abusive due to the drug addiction of my partner. I had no choice but to leave. I relocated to Tijuana for a fresh start and to find work to support my son and I. When my son was 7, I met someone who became the father of my 2nd born child, a girl. At first, my partner seemed supportive and happy about our bay. After my daughter was born with a foot deformity, my partner lost interest in our family and left me because he had found a new love. I felt destroyed, he was our sole provider and he abandoned us. Right when I wanted to give up, a got a phone call from a friend. She offered me a job that would work around all the appointments that I had for my daughter. My daughter did end up needing her foot amputated but now is able to walk with a prosthetic foot. She is happy and that makes me happy! We have been through hard times, but God always helps us- never leaves us. Thank you for your time, blessings!
