Hello, my name is Vanessa. I have a 12 year old daughter named Mei. When Mei was 8 months old, her dad left us and it’s been just us ever since (plus our 10 year old dog, Miky). I work in the kitchen at a hospital, Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm. I make food and also clean. On Saturday’s I do extra work cleaning houses. My daughter is in Jr. High. In October of 2019, the house we were renting was lost in a forest fire. We lost all our possessions that day. We had to live with family and friends for 6 months after that so I could save up money for something of our own. We are currently living a a small trailer together. I was able to save up money, enough to put a down payment on a piece of land. Sometimes when I look at all my bills and expenses, I can’t even sleep because it’s too much. We were so happy to hear of Homes of Hope through a neighbor who knew about our situation. I pray that you are able to help my family, my daughter deserves something better.
