LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:

Dear Homes of Hope, our family is originally from Veracruz, a state where jobs are scarce and poorly paid. We went through many hardships, often going without food during times when we were out of work. When we heard about Tijuana, we decided to move there in hopes of building a better future. We arrived with no money or belongings, and life was extremely difficult — especially with the onset of the pandemic — but we never gave up. We walked the streets daily in search of work. I took the night shift so my husband could stay home and care for our children. Some kind friends offered us a small room to live in, and later, my husband’s employers generously lent us a house in Rosarito so he could be closer to his job. We then set a goal to save for a piece of land; we sold our car and I took out a work loan to pay for the down payment. With that, we built a small room and were finally able to move in. It was a huge milestone, and it also allowed our children to return to school. Today, we humbly ask for your support in helping us build a larger space for our family. We sincerely thank you for your attention and for considering our request.
