LETTER FROM THE FAMILY: Dear Homes of Hope team, first of all, thank you very much for the opportunity of this interview, as for my family it would be a great blessing to receive support with a home. At present, we are renting because we do not have the resources to build, due to household expenses such as groceries, our daughters’ school supplies, and the land payment, which leaves us with very little money. My husband lost his job at Coca-Cola and now works as a construction helper when needed. I contribute by selling snacks such as tostilocos, churros, gelatin, as well as earrings and necklaces, and on weekends I prepare food to sell; I also help my mother cover her own expenses. We know there are many families in need of a home, but for us it would be a great blessing, especially since our rent was recently increased and without stable work for my husband, this causes much anxiety. Our greatest dream is to have a safe and dignified home where our daughters can live with freedom and peace, without the fear of being evicted from one day to the next. We strive to instill values and good character in them, and although we do not yet have a home, we make sure they always have a roof over their heads and food on the table. At times things get difficult, but we remind them that God never lets go of our hands and is always present in our lives. I am very grateful for this opportunity, and even if we do not qualify, we are happy and thankful to be considered. Faith is believing in what is not yet seen, and its reward is to see what is believed. We will persevere until we reap what we have sown.
