LETTER FROM THE FAMILY: Dear Homes of Hope team, warm greetings. I would like to share a little bit about my family. I have two sons: Bayron, who is in fifth grade, and Jesús, who is in preschool. My husband has a heart condition (ischemic cardiomyopathy); seven years ago, he suffered a heart attack and underwent his first catheterization, during which two stents were placed. Since then, he has had two more catheterizations, but unfortunately, his heart is now functioning at only 20%. We are currently undergoing medical evaluations to determine whether another treatment—or possibly a heart transplant—is an option. With his pension, we are only able to pay for rent, water, and electricity. I work at a factory, and in an effort to begin building our future, I applied for a Fonacot loan. However, we faced complications—such as an accident that left me unable to work for a month—so we ended up using the loan for household expenses and medications instead of construction. That is why we are reaching out to you, to request your support for a home. The place we are renting has already increased the rent once this year, and we have now been told it will go up again—a second time in the same year. We are deeply grateful for your attention and for the incredible work you do. Thank you so much.
