LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:

Dear Homes of Hope team, my name is María Fidelia Barajas, and I am a single mother of three children. On June 10, 2024, I separated from the father of my children; he left the house, and we remained living there. Shortly after, my former mother-in-law moved from Michoacán into the same house along with one of her sons and her mother. The children’s father built a wooden room upstairs where we moved, thinking that being independent it would avoid problems. However, two weeks later, after returning from an outing with him, his sister and her five children had already taken over part of the space, and little by little we were pushed out. When I took my children to visit my parents, upon returning we were no longer allowed into the room, and since then we have been living in a van my sister lent me. I sell cell phone accessories to support us, and I am asking for your help so that my children and I can have a safe and dignified roof over our heads, with beds and a table to eat at. It breaks my heart to see my children living as they are now. My son Anderson, who is nearly 12 years old and has autism, is very loving and, along with my other two children, motivates me to keep going, working hard, and spending quality time with them. I want the best for them, and I am truly grateful for your generosity.
