LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:
Dear Homes of Hope, is a pleasure and a joy to greet you. I am originally from Sinaloa, and after becoming a widow, I decided to move to Rosarito in search of work and an opportunity to continue moving forward with my family. I am the mother of six children. Three of them are now independent, and my older children help me whenever they can, but I still have children whom I need to support. My income is limited, and to provide for us, I sell bread and tortillas and also work cleaning houses. Despite our difficulties, I have tried to work hard to secure something of our own for my children, and I am currently making payments on our land. For me, having our own piece of land provides greater security than continuing to rent, since rent prices continue to increase and there is always the uncertainty that a landlord may suddenly ask us to leave. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to build on our land. One of the main reasons was my daughter's health. She experienced facial paralysis for an extended period and had to be hospitalized and receive therapy, which represented a significant expense for our family. However, I am deeply grateful to God because the treatment helped her greatly, and she has experienced significant improvement in her face. My daughter is currently attending university, and Roberto is in secondary school. It is very important to me to continue supporting their education so they can have opportunities for a better future. Day by day, we continue doing our best, trusting in God and working with what we have. After becoming a widow, I had to begin a new chapter away from Sinaloa, doing whatever work was available to provide for my children. Today, seeing my daughter attending university and Roberto continuing his education encourages me not to give up. My hope is that the land I have worked so hard to continue paying for can finally become a home where they have stability as they continue building futures of their own. May God bless you for the wonderful work you do and for the support you provide to so many families.
