LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:
Dear Homes of Hope team, I'm originally from the beautiful state of Guerrero and come from a very humble family. My mother only finished elementary school, and my father is illiterate, working as a construction laborer. I grew up in an environment full of abuse, especially toward my mother and siblings. This led to a series of sad and painful events in my life. I loved going to school and got good grades, but my family situation caused me to make poor decisions. I ran away from home with the father of my first two children while I was in the first year of high school. That brought even more suffering than I had already experienced. We lived with his parents, where I helped sell fruit in a stall without pay, only receiving food. I decided to leave and moved to Manzanillo with my two brothers and children, empty-handed because the children's father didn’t want to give me anything. Later, I met the father of my daughter Mia—it was the same story. I rushed into the relationship and ended up experiencing psychological abuse that destroyed my self-esteem. He was aggressive and once even threw a car at me. When I finally separated from him, he took Mia one day, and his partner stabbed her in the shoulder. Later, at school, Ximena was bullied and had her arm broken. Because of all this, I decided to move to Rosarito, where I learned to bake, and with that, I’ve been supporting my children. We currently rent a small house near my plot of land. I found out about your organization on social media and I thank you with all my heart if you could help us.
