LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:
Dear Homes of Hope, I am a single mother of 3 kids. I separated from their father more than five years ago due to the abuse and violence he inflicted on me, as he struggled with drug use and was very aggressive. I did not want my children to grow up in that environment, so I moved back into my parents’ home. They have always supported me; in fact, my father gave me a job in his carpentry workshop at home, which allows me to work while taking care of my children. Previously, I worked night shifts in a factory, but it was very exhausting. I would love to have a home of my own, as there are often conflicts due to the limited space—my sister and her children also live with us, so there are many children and not enough room. Having our own home would give us our own space and allow us to live without feeling like a burden. Unfortunately, I do not have the financial means to build a house on my own, as I must cover expenses such as clothing, shoes, utilities, and schooling. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
