LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:
Dear Homes of Hope team, I was born in Oaxaca, where I lived only with my mother, as she separated from my father due to domestic violence. When I was three years old, we moved to the United States, where I studied, but at the age of twelve I began working to help my mother, since my father never supported us. As a young person, I made many mistakes and poor decisions, which led to me being incarcerated, and at nineteen I was deported. At twenty-one, I decided to start a family; we were together for five years, but it did not work out, so we separated in order to provide a healthier environment for our children. To this day, my children are my priority and take up all my time. Their mother is now with someone else, and my children did not feel comfortable there because they were mistreated, so they now live with me. It has not been easy, as we live in a small, deteriorated trailer. I would like to provide them with something more comfortable, safe, and stable, which is why I purchased a piece of land.
