LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:
Dear Homes of Hope team, I am a single mother, and for a long time I have dreamed of having a home of my own, but it has not been possible for me to achieve it. Some years ago, I arrived in Tijuana with the intention of crossing into the United States, believing that I could give my son a better life and build a future for us. However, when I attempted to cross, I was caught. I became very frightened and never tried again. I decided to stay here in Tijuana, where I met someone I thought would become my life partner, but in the end he only became the father of my second son. Things did not work out between us, and he also developed a drug addiction. As rent prices continued to rise, we decided to buy a piece of land. We have now been paying for it for six years, but we still have not been able to build anything on it. Someone told us about Casas de Esperanza, and that is why I decided to apply.
