LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:
Dear Homes of Hope team, our story began on April 12, 2013, when we met at a party. After that, we started going out together, became boyfriend and girlfriend, and by November we wanted to move in together, but our parents opposed the idea because I was still in high school. In December, we found out that I was pregnant, but my parents wanted me to finish my studies before allowing us to get married. I experienced complications and a threatened miscarriage, so in February they allowed me to move into my in-laws’ house while I continued studying. On April 30th, we got married in a civil ceremony. In July, I finished school, and just a few days later our first baby was born. We then moved into a rented room near my in-laws’ home. In August, my husband received a good job offer that included housing, so we moved, and life improved. We were even able to save enough money for the down payment on a piece of land. However, in 2017 that job ended, and we had to move back in with my in-laws and lost the land we had worked so hard for, which was very painful for us. In November 2018, our second daughter, Lia, was born while we were still living with my in-laws. In 2024, we were offered a trailer home, which my father bought and loaned to us. My father-in-law helped with the electrical wiring and plumbing, and we moved into what became our new home. Because of health issues, my father later came to live with us, which was difficult with three adults, three children, and our pet all sharing such a small space. He no longer lives with us now. For privacy and comfort, we have wanted to build something larger, but with only one income it has been difficult because our family is not small. Little by little, with the small amount we were able to save, we managed to make another down payment on a different piece of land with more affordable monthly payments. We have always dreamed of having a place of our own, a stable and secure space for our family. In June 2023, we received a big surprise—we were not planning on having more children, but it happened! We have worked very hard to save money. We are hardworking, honest, humble people who try to help others whenever we can. We strive to raise our children with love, values, and healthy boundaries, and we would be deeply grateful to be considered for your program.
