LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:

Dear Homes of Hope team, it brings us great joy to greet you and thank you for this wonderful opportunity to participate in your program. My daughter and I are originally from Puebla, and five years ago we decided to move here in search of new opportunities. With God’s help and hand in hand with my daughter, we have been able to overcome many difficulties and make it this far, although we do not deny the challenges we have faced along the way. Sergio, on the other hand, is from Guadalajara and moved here with his parents many years ago. He arrived with nothing and struggled greatly at first, but eventually he found a good job and was able to rent a home and begin building a stable life. They were happy and lacked nothing, but sadly his father became very ill, lost his eyesight, and suffered from asthma, while his mother also struggled with high blood pressure and diabetes. One day while Sergio was at work, he was informed that an ambulance had taken his father away. His father passed away, and only a few months later his mother also died. After those painful losses, Sergio became angry and fell into depression. He lost his job, was evicted for not being able to pay rent, and all of his belongings were stolen. For a time he lived very bitter and angry, but God gave him the opportunity to rise again and form a family with us. Together we were able to make the down payment on a piece of land, and he even found secondhand wood to begin building little by little. It has not been easy, but we continue moving forward with faith, believing that God has not abandoned us. Thank you for considering our story and for the hope you bring to families like ours.
