Letter from the family:

I’m Maria Guadalupe Peralta Rosas, a single mother with three children by the names Benjamin Brayan Ceja Peralta, Hasly Michelle Ceja Peralta and Kevin Jesus Ceja Peralta that are 17, 15, and 14 years old. I ask you for your support with a home as my parents are gifting me a property but I don’t have the means to build a house for my children, as the father of my children does not support us at all and I do not make enough money selling clothing at the market. I can barely cover the needs of my children. For this reason I have not been able to finalize any legal documents because I do not have enough money to put my name on the property as honestly it’s very costly. For this reason I am asking you from the bottom of my heart for your help and to your noble hearts, thank you for your time and many thanks. May God bless you.

FAMILY INFORMATION:

Father: Jorge

Age: 49 years old

Profession: cleaning company

Salary Weekly: $ 100 USD

Mother: Guadalupe

Age: 43 years old

Profession: housewife

CHILDREN

Name: Francisco - Age: 10 years old.

Name: Cristian - Age: 24 years old.

Letter from the family:

Hello, I pray this letter finds you doing well. I want to tell you a little about my family and what we need your help. My husband Jorge and I started our family 24 years ago. We had our first child, Cristian, then Jorge and Francisco. We have had to move constantly and have lived in many high risk areas along the way. One time while my husband was at work and I was at home with my kids, it started to rain so hard that our home collapsed. Thankfully we made it out on time and none of us were injured. We think that Cristian, our oldest was drugged by his ex-girlfriend’s family 2 years ago, he has never been the same since. We also lost our 14 year old son, Jorge, to violence. Since these two incidents, I have been in a deep depression not knowing what to do with my life. Cristian is now in a rehab center and we have decided to live in a new and safer neighborhood to give our youngest son, Francisco a chance at a good life. We have a property that we put a down payment on and we are making our payments to it as well. We moved onto the property 3 months ago and are working very hard. We really would appreciate your help, we just want to give our family a better life. We have been through a lot but have hope for a miracle. Thank you!

Miles of Hope - RAMIREZ GONZALES (Orange Team)

Date Build: July, Friday 15th - Saturday 16th, 2022

FAMILY INFORMATION:

Father: Primitivo

Age: 30 years old

Profession: Factory

Salary Weekly: $ 100 USD

Mother: Eliza

Age: 34 years old

Profession: housewife

CHILDREN

Name: Kenia - Age: 3 years old.

TIME IN TIJUANA: 2 years

Letter from the family:

We’re the Ramirez Gonzalez family, made up of my daughter Kenia Yaquelin, Primitivo and Eliza. We are a family with little resources who had to immigrate from San Quintin Baja California due to our daughter’s health concerns who was diagnosed with Acute Limphoblastic Leukemia that was detected a little over a year and a half ago. Since then we have fought by her side everyday hoping for a miracle from God, that He would have mercy on her life and allow us to keep her with us, as she is our only daughter and biggest treasure. Sadly this sickness is very deceiving and can return at any moment even stronger and destroy her organs. For this reason we decided to stay here in Tijuana. San Quintin is considered an area far from the city and sadly the specialists in Hematology and Oncology that our young daughter needs are nonexistent there.

We have had many needs between transportation, food, health and shelter more than anything, as the income my husband receives in the factory at times does not cover all of our needs. We see ourselves in need of asking for a house where we can offer a better quality of life to our family as the house we currently live in leaks when it rains which makes us unable to relax while we sleep. The wind and the rain also bring lots of dirt through the cracks in our house that dirty our blankets. We have only a dirt floor and insects have entered our house, putting our family’s health at risk, especially Kenia because of her low immune system, as a bite from any insect or animal really concerns us.

As I promise to tell the truth, I want to say that my father, when I was young, donated a piece of land to me and I am unsure if it will show up on the “no property card” that I am going to have processed. In telling you the truth, my parents live on that property, in a wooden house. My father is a disabled man and cannot work, and my mother, with the little economical support she receives from the government are able to survive, as my siblings really do not support them financially. I have shared with my dad that due to my daughter’s condition and the need she has for weekly chemotherapy as well as on occasions needing to go to the emergency room due to complications from chemotherapy, that we will not be returning to live with them, but we will stay here in Tijuana. As Kenia’s treatment is long term, we will not be leaving Tijuana, and my parents will continue living in that home for good.

I wanted to share a little about the reason behind my father putting this property in my name. My parents have the idea and the custom of giving the home to me as the youngest, as I would typically be responsible to care for them when they’re older. Sadly because of our situation my husband and I made the decision to leave this home in San Quintin to them as they are used to living in San Quintin around the majority of our family members and did not want to move with us to live in Tijuana. I love my parents, but sadly I’m unable to do anything for them because of the situation we are living in currently.

I thank you all deeply for all the support you are providing for families such as ours and I’m sure God will multiply it abundantly. We will be praying to our Lord Jesus that we could become candidates for this support.

FAMILY INFORMATION:

Father: Jose

Age: 26 years old

Profession: bricklayer

Salary Weekly: $ 100 USD

Mother: Reina

Age: 28 years old

Profession: housewife

CHILDREN

Name: Alexis - Age: 6 years old.

Name: Hector - Age: 5 years old.

TIME IN TIJUANA: 14 years

Letter from the family:

Good day, my name is Reyna Esteve. I am writing this letter to share a little about my family and our home situation. I arrived to the city of Rosarito 13 years ago. I have four siblings and it was my mother, who was a single mother, who brought us here with hopes of having a better life. As the years have passed, I’ve been able to form my own family. I have two sons, one who was born to me, and the other from my husband. But I always say I have two sons because I love him as my own son. His biological mother gave him to my husband and I am the one who takes him to school, and takes care of him in everything he needs while my husband works and looks to earn the money we need for our home. We were able to obtain a property through small payments now three years ago, and have been living on the property for the past year and 7 months. We were able to build a small 5x5 room with a wooden roof and covered with a tarp so that water doesn’t come in. The walls are only covered with triplay and fabric and are not plastered which is why we need a more secure home, as air comes in from all sides. I’d like my children to have a place to rest and be able to do their homework without being cold, as they are only 5 and 6 years old. I’d like to offer them a dignified home but our economical situation is very difficult. Because of this I’m sending this letter, to see if I qualify for a home for my family. I end this letter sending you a very cordial goodbye. God Bless you.

Sister:

Letter from the family:

Through this letter I want to share our current situation. We are a family of seven people, two adults and five children. We live in a humble room made of scraps of wood. When it rains the water comes through the roof and soaks our beds. The house is falling apart since we made it with scavenged pieces of lumber.

We have really gone through a difficult situation since I do not have a spouse to contribute to my family’s needs. We do not have the necessary resources to build a decent home. My salary barely covers half of our day to day needs. Every night before going to sleep we pray that God will help us to find a decent home to live in. It would be a blessing for us to be chosen so that God pours out his blessings on our family through “güeros” like you.

To share a bit more of our story we are originally from Michoacán. We had to leave everything in order to have peace and quiet. Years ago, I was kidnapped while living in Michoacán. We fled to Rosarito and it has been very painful for me to start my life over again. It really has been a very difficult situation. Even trying to make new friends is fearful for me. Each day I pray that God will give me a day without any violence, and without fear.

As a humble family, our only desire is to have a small house for us. We have each other, which is our home, but all I ask is for a house where we could live. May God generously bless you.

Over 5 years ago, we had to return a piece of land that we were almost done paying for. There was a terrible accident involving my daughter where she was burned on 80% of her body. The hospital charged us so much money that we had to sell our land to pay for treatment. Thankfully we received help through the Mickey Mouse foundation in the United States and lived there a whole year while my daughter received treatment and had many surgeries. My husband had to stay behind and take care of our other 3 children, financially this was a big hit to us. We finally have enough to put as a downpayment on a new piece of land. We are hoping to build a home there and we really need help. Thank you from all of us. Blessings!

Letter from the family:

I would like to take this opportunity to tell the Homes of Hope staff about my family and our story. There are 3 people in our family; my wife Harumi, my 1 year old son Juan Esteban, and myself, Juan Carlos. About 2 years ago I got together with my wife and we found a place to rent. A couple months after that she became pregnant after being told she would never be able to because of health problems she has. Because of this miracle in our lives, we desired better for ourselves and our future child. We made the decision to look for a piece of land and also wanted to get married legally. About 20 days after our wedding, I was in a big accident. I was run over by a bus on my way to work at 5am, the bus went into a pedestrian zone and got me. Thankfully, an ambulance came for me quickly and took me to a hospital. Everyone started to pray for me and my healing while my wife was ready for the worst. I couldn’t remember anything for 15 days. I had a head injury, an abdominal injury, a collapsed lung, two broken clavicles, broke my right leg, and fractured my left hand. I just got out of the hospital a month ago and I can’t believe I’m alive, praise God! We look to you for help in building a home for us. I’m currently in a wheelchair and unable to work. It’s becoming too much to have to pay a land payment and also rent. We just need help! Thank you for listening to our story.

Everything started when my husband couldn’t find good work in Oaxaca so he decided to try and come to Northern Mexico with the hope to cross into the United States. He tried several times to cross but was unsuccessful. While that was happening, I found work taking care of chickens and my payment was eggs so that we could eat. They were terribly difficult times. The last time my husband tried to cross he was injured and decided to stay in Northern Mexico. He brought myself and our two sons up here so that we could seek a better life together. A man let us borrow a small room to live in but it doesn’t have a roof- he also loaned us a small car we can sleep in. We finally were able to save money and put a down payment on a piece of land which is where we are currently living. We hope and pray that we can be considered for a Homes of Hope house. Homes of Hope, we ask you for your support to make our home. Our family consists of Dad -Julio César, Mom-Bianca Maria, hija-Mía Guadalupe, and son-Julio Tadeo. We ask for a home due to the fact that we do not have our own home, instead we are renting. Also due to the pandemic COVID-19 we have been affected economically along with my wife Bianca Marisa’s thyroid sickness and my son Julio’s knee operation. This has caused us to need to sell my small car that we used as transportation to work and school for the kids. But with the little bit of money that we receive we’ve been able to use it as a down payment on a property but we have not been able to build a house due to my income. My income is very little divided up between paying the rent, property payments, power, water, food, uniforms, trips and some medicine because our medical insurance doesn’t cover it. Also our rented room is very small and this is another reason and purpose behind us wanting our own lot of land and our own home.

We are in a very difficult financial situation after losing my husband, Emanuel, to tuberculosis. I was trying so hard to work and come up with money for all of his treatments but it was never enough. We at times have not been able to eat because all our money was going towards my husband’s treatment. We did all we could but lost him on February 10th of this year. We have just been surviving since he passed. Thankfully our pastors are letting us stay with them because they know all about our situation. My pastors also are very poor but they still have chosen to help us. I became behind in my land payments and also almost lost that. My sister came to my aid and has been helping me make the payments, thankfully. Honestly, I feel I have nothing. I just started work 3 weeks ago at a factory and I’m working to save up money again. If you could help us with a home, we would be so thankful. Thank you for taking the time to read about our lives. I pray God’s blessings over you and that He would provide for all your needs!

We had been living with my mother in law but quickly outgrew the space when we had children. We tried but renting but everywhere was so expensive. So we quickly built a small room on our property that we could have a place to live. Our house is barely staying together but we did the best we could with the cheapest building supplies we could find. My husband sells popsicles from a push cart but it isn’t a stable income. We sell anything we can to come up with to have extra money for our house. It’s just never enough. Having a home would be a dream come true, we pray God hears our prayers. We have never lost faith in Him, even on the hard days. Thank you for considering us, God bless you.

Letter from the family:

Hello loved ones. We are the Santiago Velasco family. We are from the State of Oaxaca., Oaxaca. It is a very humble place. We are from a ranch that is approximately one hour and 30 minutes from the center of Oaxaca. Where we come from, there is no water or electricity, much less work. The only economy we have is to cut trees down, and other items are bartered to the food and items we need.

We left the ranch in order to achieve our dreams of having a little house and land to build it on. We arrived here in Rosarito five years ago and thanks to God we already secured a piece of land. We have been paying for it for two years. Due to economic situations, we haven’t been able to build even a small structure to live in on our land yet. We would like to make a little house, like when we lived on the ranch in Oaxaca, but we have not been able to yet. Yet we have faith in God that soon we will have a home on our land to be able to live with our children. We ask you with much love and faith to help us reach our dream since we are a very simple family.

Sincerely, the Santiago Velasco family

Hello, my name is Angelina Rodriguez Bautizta. I am from Oaxaca, a very small town near the mountains, called San Martin Peras. That’s why I came to Rosarito about 4 years ago. When I came here, my uncle let us borrow a little house to live in, and eventually we were able to obtain our own little plot of land. However, the reason I am asking for your help is because we don’t have enough money to build a better shelter. Especially when it rains, all of the water leaks into our house, we all get wet, and we’re very squished in here being a family of 6.
