Dear Homes of Hope team, I am writing to you to express my heartfelt gratitude for the support you provide through your homebuilding program. I would like to share my situation with you: I am a single mother originally from Veracruz, a state in southern Mexico. I am currently living in Rosarito under the care and protection of my brother. When I arrived here, my goal was to work and save enough money to purchase land. Thankfully, I have managed to acquire a plot, which I am still paying off. I am working toward bringing my mother to live with me, as she suffers from diabetes and I currently help support her with her basic needs, including food. I have two sons: Marcos, who is 25 years old, and Luis Armando, who is 16. My eldest son works away from home and, due to his job in law enforcement, he is frequently relocated. However, his official residence remains here. I have been living in Rosarito since 2018 after fleeing a situation of domestic violence with my two sons.
