LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:
Dear Homes of Hope team, my name is Nataly. I completed high school and then decided to study cosmetology. My parents paid for my studies, and I spent my days at my sister’s home in Rosarito, where I met Fernando. We were friends for eight months and then became a couple. Six months later, I became pregnant, and we decided to take responsibility and start a life together. Fernando paints cars, which is how he supports our family. He had a very difficult childhood and had to start working at a very young age, at just 13 years old, which is why he wanted me not to work and instead focus on caring for our son so he could have a better childhood. About nine months ago, we purchased our piece of land, but almost all of our income goes toward paying for the land and rent, which is why we have not been able to start building our house. I try to help by selling items and doing occasional makeup or hair jobs so he does not feel so pressured. On our land, we want to secure the future of our son and ourselves, spend more time together, and reduce expenses that do not go toward our own property.
