Dear Homes of Hope team, I am a single mother of three children, as their father left us five years ago and now has another family. My son has a disability—he does not have his right hand—and he suffers a lot of bullying at school. My daughter has been diagnosed with bulimia, as she refuses to eat, and her father’s departure affected her deeply. At the moment, we are living in a small, damp room, and the owner has already asked us to leave because she plans to build there. I work at the beach making braids and selling bracelets, and with that income I pay rent, the land payments, and provide for my three children, but there are weeks when I don’t know how to cover all the expenses. Additionally, I was diagnosed with arthritis two years ago, and it is becoming increasingly difficult for me to continue working. I feel desperate, but I have faith that you may be able to help us achieve a place where my children can feel safe and sleep peacefully.
