LETTER FROM THE FAMILY:
Dear Homes of Hope team, I was born in the State of Mexico, and I moved here seven years ago because I was expecting my daughter and my partner did not want to support me. Since I had no one to help me and my mother had already moved here, I came to live with her. I looked for a job as a teaching assistant but was unable to find one, so I ended up working night shifts in a factory, which was very exhausting. I now work from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. My daughter is in second grade in the afternoon shift, so I take her to school and my mother picks her up. The relationship between my mother and her partner was not good—he was very controlling and did not like that my daughter and I were living there. He treated us poorly, which is why I decided to buy a piece of land and leave that environment. As a single mother, it has been difficult to build something of my own, but I am moving forward step by step. I even bought a small car to get to work. My mother has now left her partner and is living with us, and recently she was diagnosed with diabetes and anemia, so I am doing my best to care for her. I would be very grateful for the blessing of having a home for the three of us, as that is our dream—to have a safe and loving place to call our own. Thank you.
