Letter from the family:

Brooke Enriquez To whom it concerns, good afternoon! I have been looking for a house to rent because where I was living, I had to leave and I had no where to go with my daughters. I have my own land where I was able to build a small room. We are really crunched for space there and also do not yet have utilities. When we first started moving our things to this small structure, the little that we did have was stolen from us. For now, we just have this one small room and a bathroom. We do all of our activities there. We do everything by candlelight like eating dinner, doing homework, eating breakfast, and getting ready for school. I haven’t been able to make our room bigger or better because two weeks ago I had to leave my job because it was too much between taking care of my kids, studying, and working. I am a single mom and I’ve always had to work to get ahead in life. Right now, the only work I have is being a security guard every other weekend. This only pays enough money to give us food and to pay for school. I have no money left over to put into our house. We have had a lot of difficult and desperate days. We are all together in a small, tight place with our things and no electricity. It’s too much some times. What we most desire is a place of our own. Where my kids can rest, do their homework, eat together, not have to use candles, watch tv, bathe ourselves, and a place where no one can tell us to leave. With all my heart I desire to have a home for my family. I know my daughters would love that. They would love to have their own space and I want to give that to them. Thank you!

FAMILY INFORMATION:

Mother: Magdalena

Age: 49 years old

Profession: Thrift Market

Weekly Salary: $416 USD

CHILDREN

Name: Katherine - Age: 17 years old.

TIME IN TIJUANA: 20 years

Letter from the family:

Our current situation is this, we are renting but really wish to have a home of our own. We have always rented and we just can’t anymore. Thanks to God, I have been able to make our land payment . Within the first year of renting, it rained so bad and caused our home to be full of mold. This has really affected our health poorly, especially my daughter, Katherine, who now suffers from asthma. The owner of the home chose not to fix the roof and opted for putting a tarp over it. The tarp broke and with another rain, all the water went into our home and caused an even bigger mold problem. I work in a swap meet and have to store all my goods inside our small home to protect it which makes our living space even smaller. I pray to God that you will be able to help us have a home of our own. I recently sold my car so that we could start building a bathroom for us. 3 years ago, my daughter asked me if she could have a room of her own, I explained to her that God’s timing is perfect. For now, we will keep renting, until we get a beautiful place of our own. Thank you God, I ask for peace and harmony for every family needing a home. -Magdalena

We are from Michoacan and we are looking for a better future for all of us. We came to Rosarito with the hope of being able to give our daughters more in this life. 3 years ago we bought a piece of land that we could make payments on. It’s been very hard to make our land payment and also our rent, but they are the sacrifices you make in order to move forward. I (Sandra) help make piñatas but I don’t make very much money doing it. My husband, Lorenzo, works up to 7 days a week so that we can make ends meet but it’s never enough. That’s why I’m writing to you, because we know you have helped so many families be able to have a home of their own. We want to be able to do the same for our daughters, give them a home where they feel happy and have good memories of their childhood. We would love for you to be part of our story. If we received your help, it would truly be a miracle from God. Thank you for listening to me, I write to you from my heart. Thank you, Sandra.

Letter from the family:

Good morning or good afternoon.

Firstly, I wish you all many blessings. Thank you for helping low income families, among them, my own family. With much effort and help from God we have been making the payments on our property to give my children a good future.

I would like to have a home for my family because we are currently living in a small room where we are often cold. I would like to have something a bit bigger for my children. My partner does not earn enough to pay for a bigger house, as we barely can cover the monthly costs of the property. Because of this, I would like a Home of Hope, so my children are not cold in their home and so they could be more comfortable. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the help you are giving others, and for opening a door for us to have a place to live.

Thank you so much for reading this card. May God bless each and every one of you.

We are living in a very small room made out of wood, it’s a space that someone is loaning to us. We don’t have sufficient space for the 4 of us, I especially ask on behalf of my kids and their lack of comfort. Our kids are sick all the time because it’s so cold and when the rain comes, the water comes in. We’ve experienced days where no one slept at all because with the rain, we have to move our bed and everything we have. I feel so sad for my kids, I don’t like seeing their sad faces. This is why I have the hope that maybe you can help us and we can receive a Homes of Hope house. We decided to ask some family members if we could borrow money to buy a piece of land. What we want more than anything is to have a home and to try our hardest with what we have. We just want our kids to live well. I ask you with my whole heart to support and help us in this way. Thank you. Griselda Vega Lopez

Weekly Salary: $112 USD

Mother: Rosa Ella

Age: 30 years old

Profession: Stay at home mom

CHILDREN

Name: Yamilet Guadalupe - Age: 7 years old

Name: Axel Flores - Age: 1 year old

Letter from the family:

Hello and God bless you, we are the Flores Gonzales family. Our love story starts in 2014, and a bit after that, we had our first child, a girl. When she was about 3 years old, we learned that she has language and comprehension complexities and we were advised to take her to therapy. We did try to but ultimately it didn’t work out because we needed to pay our rent. Then, our second child was born and money became more scarce. A family member offered us a small space so that we wouldn’t have to pay rent and would be able to instead pay for our daughter’s therapy. A second teacher also noticed my daughter’s issues and recommended a therapist to us. Since then, we have been taking our daughter to therapy once a week. This is very difficult for us because my husband is the only one who works and our daughter’s therapy is very expensive. Now, the room they were lending us is no longer ours and we needed to build some quickly for our family. It’s a small room made out of wood and tarps. This is why we are reaching out to you for help, so that we can give our kids the home that they deserve. The room we currently stay in gets so hot and the kids are the ones who suffer most. Because my husband is the only one working, we don’t have the money on our own to build something better. Right now we only have enough to make our land payment, to buy milk and diapers for my baby, and to pay for my daughter’s therapy. I know God has heard our prayers, and has directed us to you. We need a home, for our kids. We don’t want them to suffer anymore. We know God will provide for all of our needs. Thank you for listening to us, may God keep blessings you and the beautiful work that you do.

I write to you asking for help because on my own, I do not have the resources to get ahead in life. In December of 2021, my house burned down. When our home burned down, we lost everything. Everything I had been working towards for years was suddenly gone. I work from home because of the care I need to provide for my handicap daughter- all my work materials were also lost in the fire. We also lost all my daughter’s medicine which was very expensive. I currently do not have a steady job and often find things that I can turn around and sell in the street. What I have is not enough to take care of us because I am all alone in my efforts. Thank you for your time, God bless you.

Letter from the family:

We will share with you about our life and hope that you will be blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ. I am from the state of Oaxaca and my husband is from Guerrero. We were asked to sincerely share our story.

We met in the USA where we had our first son. I know that from there we suffered a lot because my husband drank and maybe thought that nothing could happen to him. One day he was deported and I was pregnant with my second daughter. Because of the advice of a specific person I took the poor decision to not allow my daughter to be born in the USA..

We went to live in Oaxaca where we suffered a lot. Sometimes it made us think and say “Why am I like this, it isn’t worth it to live.” But after that comes the commitment and the great love from our children. They are the ones who give you the strength to keep moving forward. We were hoping to be reunited with my husband but in this time he drank a lot and it made us feel that we didn’t matter to him even though he said we did; his actions said the opposite. My kids had a lot of needs in nutrition, clothing, shoes because apart from his drinking there was not much work. I was waiting to give birth to my third son. I couldn’t endure so much need that my kids were suffering. I love them so much. My parent weren’t around so I felt a deep loneliness in my heart.

I met the Lord when I was in the USA and I always asked Papa God that he would help my husband to be different because I never wanted my family to be destroyed. The most important thing was that my kids were not in my hometown where I feel there are more vices where kids can fall into drugs. I asked God over and over for us to escape from there to get here (Tijuana) where there are more opportunities and the most important of all that we teach them about the word of God.

Sometimes I think that more people would say “I don’t think people are going to build your house because your have a kid who was born in the USA,” but I believe that even though we have one child who was born in the USA, this is the moment for us to see for our child and his childhood the most important more than in their heart they will carry all the love to give to their families in the future. I know that I believe in God and His mercy and that all the needs that we have we can overcome and I hop that one day my children can be used like you guys to bless other people just like us, how we need it now. I am expecting my fifth baby and I have to ask forgiveness to God because at first I said I didn’t want to have another baby because I didn’t want the baby to suffer like the others have. But if God blessed me with another one He knows, I hope. When we meet each other and you see our home that God has given us and that I give thanks to God for but I think that my kids deserve something more sometimes they ask us, “mom, when can we we have something for us and why don’t we go out together?” And we can only say that some day we may have something beter. They ask us to have a car because we can’t always go out as a family together. We don’t always have what we need to give them everything because my husband’s salary doesn’t stretch that far. Regardless, we are here together. Thank you for reading these lines about our life even though so many things and so many moments of sadness are missing, like the sicknesses that we had, a moment where it felt like we were going to lose one of my children with that sickness and also having no money but thanks to God he is still here with a lot of Ned but with a great love of his parents and our God. Thank you to everyone and I hope that we will be blessed as you bless each of the families. It matters to all the children, whether they are born in the USA or not. Thank you Homes of Hope. Sincerely, the Ojendiz Arzola family

Hello to everyone who is hearing my request. Before anything else I want to present myself, my name is Adilene Ibet Castrejon Lopez and I have the jot of being the mother to four beautiful children. They are the reason that I am fighting day by day to be able to give them a better future. By my side I have a great man and we’ve been together for two years, he is also helping me pay for the land that we have been living on for the past seven months. I’m writing to you to ask for help because I won’t be able to build us a bigger room to live in. This is because the little money that I earn we have been using to pay our bills. The bills are a lot for us. My house measures at about 4.5x4.5 meters and I live here with my children, my mother and Javier. My partner would like a house like the ones you build because the place where I live now is very small and everything is very small. Then as time passes my children will grow and we will be able to apply for a home.

Theres a passage in the Bible that says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). I would love so much dear brothers that you would be able to help us and with my family we can make our dream a reality, to have a home with a roof where my children can have there own room, one to themselves. Everything in my request is for a future, so that I can leave an inheritance to my daughters and enjoy the greatness of our Lord Jesus Christ. For us, our Lord Jesus Christ says the same, I will respond and I have my faith in our Lord that it will touch your hearts so that you come to my humble house to visit us, we are waiting for you. Before anything else thank you for the time that you have put in to read through these lines, well this very long letter, but I just wanted you to know more of myself and my family.

I send you a friendly greeting from my family. Today I am writing to share a little about my family and the situation we are currently in. We have 4 family members, my husband, myself, and our two young children, one of which is 5 years old and the other 7 months. I’m writing you as we have heard that you are able to help families have a house. We acquired our land in November. Before that we rented a property but they raised the rent cost greatly, and we could not keep paying. Because of that reason we decided to acquire our land, as we couldn’t pay such a high rent price. Currently we live on the property, and we’ve built a little house on it. We acquired the land with money we were given during my pregnancy. I stopped working because I couldn’t leave my baby as care is necessary at such a young age. Currently my husband is the only one working. He works in a hotel that is located in Playas de Tijuana. We serve at a church that is located nearby where we live. We know the word of God and we know that his blessings come when one is in need. I hope to God that you are able to help us and that this home can be a blessing. At the same time, we know that if we are not chosen, that it is not our time, because we believe in a God that is all powerful. We have been married for 9 years and we know that God has always been with us. We thank you deeply for giving us the opportunity to apply for this support. Also, on the day that I went to the meeting about the requirements, they gave a small teaching about a paralyzed person seated outside of the church. They told him, stand and walk. God had the perfect timing in mind for this paralyzed person, and in the same way I believe God has the perfect and precise time for each and every one of us.

The reason we are asking for support is because we do not have a sustainable way to build a house. The little savings we did have was given towards the down payment to make a small room where we can change as we had to leave the house that we previously rented, seeing as they raised the rent price on us and our contract was ending. Currently we are only paying a monthly amount on our land, and that is something that will be ours and any repairs we give it as well. And we know that if our house needs fixing, we will do it. We pray that the will of God would happen and that we could receive this great blessing.

God bless each of you that are a part of this team in helping families in need.

Letter from the family:

Hi, my name is Fatima Guadalupe Rodriguez Leon, I’m originally from the state of Oaxaca in Mexico. The motive of my letter is to share my current situation with you and to ask for your support through a Home of Hope. With a lot of faith and emotion, I ask for this home. I’m a single mom and do not have my own home. I currently live with my dad, he’s letting my daughter and I stay in a small space of his house. I would really like for us to have a place of our own. We don’t have enough space for our things, or to be able to have a stove to cook on. My dad lets me borrow his things and before, I did have a refrigerator but it broke. It was going to be too expensive to fix my refrigerator so we have been without one since December. I don’t have a lot of money to replace broken down items. I’m asking out of complete faith, to be considered for a Home of Hope. I just don’t have the resources to be able to get my own home. Thanks to God, I was able to purchase a plot of land. This happened because many of my family members decided to loan me money and now very slowly, I am paying them back. I don’t have a steady job, I braid people’s hair on the beach for income, I also sell bracelets, and beach toys. Some days I make 300 pesos and some days I make nothing. From whatever I make, I set aside money to pay back my family the money I owe them for my land. I can’t get ahead because all my money goes to food and to pay back my loan. Life has been hard as a single mom, I don’t have much help with my daughter. Sometimes it’s hard to work because I don’t have anyone to take care of my daughter, or I need to take her to school, or do homework with her. Since Covid, it has been hard to find steady work. I would like for you to be able to come and see where I am currently living. It’s very small and cold air comes in through the walls. Our things are always full of dirt and dust. We really need your help, thank you so much! -Fatima
