Good day my name is Daniela Orozco Sanchez. I’m writing you this letter to ask if you could help me with a house for my family as my husband does not have sufficient enough income to build one ourselves. We are currently living in a small trailer that’s not in very good condition. It leaks and at night the cold wind comes in and we sleep all together because the trailer is very small. I would like if you could help me to be able to have our own home and that my children could have their own space. I’m asking for the bottom of my heart that you could help me to be able to have a secure covering for my children.

Name: Juan - Age: 1 year old.

Letter from the family:

I would like to take this opportunity to tell the Homes of Hope staff about my family and our story. There are 3 people in our family; my wife Harumi, my 1 year old son Juan Esteban, and myself, Juan Carlos. About 2 years ago I got together with my wife and we found a place to rent. A couple months after that she became pregnant after being told she would never be able to because of health problems she has. Because of this miracle in our lives, we desired better for ourselves and our future child. We made the decision to look for a piece of land and also wanted to get married legally. About 20 days after our wedding, I was in a big accident. I was run over by a bus on my way to work at 5am, the bus went into a pedestrian zone and got me. Thankfully, an ambulance came for me quickly and took me to a hospital. Everyone started to pray for me and my healing while my wife was ready for the worst. I couldn’t remember anything for 15 days. I had a head injury, an abdominal injury, a collapsed lung, two broken clavicles, broke my right leg, and fractured my left hand. I just got out of the hospital a month ago and I can’t believe I’m alive, praise God! We look to you for help in building a home for us. I’m currently in a wheelchair and unable to work. It’s becoming too much to have to pay a land payment and also rent. We just need help! Thank you for listening to our story.

We sell churros for money. We have been paying for our land for over 3 years now, and 1 and a half years ago we started trying to build a home on it. We haven’t been able to live in it yet as it’s unfinished and my children are too small to live in a home that is so cold, and one that can get wet on the inside. Currently we live right next to our property and are renting. Our biggest desire is to receive your help with a home. Thank you for your time.

Salary Weekly: $ 60 USD

Name: Maximiliano - Age: 6 years old.

Letter from the family:

Hello, we are the Vazquez Cruz family. We are originally from Oaxaca in Southern Mexico. 4 years ago we moved to Baja California. Everything started when my husband couldn’t find good work in Oaxaca so he decided to try and come to Northern Mexico with the hope to cross into the United States. He tried several times to cross but was unsuccessful. While that was happening, I found work taking care of chickens and my payment was eggs so that we could eat. They were terribly difficult times. The last time my husband tried to cross he was injured and decided to stay in Northern Mexico. He brought myself and our two sons up here so that we could seek a better life together. A man let us borrow a small room to live in but it doesn’t have a roof- he also loaned us a small car we can sleep in. We finally were able to save money and put a down payment on a piece of land which is where we are currently living. We hope and pray that we can be considered for a Homes of Hope house. Thank you for reading our letter, blessings.

Letter from the family:

Homes of Hope, we ask you for your support to make our home. Our family consists of Dad -Julio César, Mom-Bianca Maria, hija-Mía Guadalupe, and son-Julio Tadeo. We ask for a home due to the fact that we do not have our own home, instead we are renting. Also due to the pandemic COVID-19 we have been affected economically along with my wife Bianca Marisa’s thyroid sickness and my son Julio’s knee operation. This has caused us to need to sell my small car that we used as transportation to work and school for the kids. But with the little bit of money that we receive we’ve been able to use it as a down payment on a property but we have not been able to build a house due to my income. My income is very little divided up between paying the rent, property payments, power, water, food, uniforms, trips and some medicine because our medical insurance doesn’t cover it. Also our rented room is very small and this is another reason and purpose behind us wanting our own lot of land and our own home.

Hello, my name is Vanessa. I have a 12 year old daughter named Mei. When Mei was 8 months old, her dad left us and it’s been just us ever since (plus our 10 year old dog, Miky). I work in the kitchen at a hospital, Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm. I make food and also clean. On Saturday’s I do extra work cleaning houses. My daughter is in Jr. High. In October of 2019, the house we were renting was lost in a forest fire. We lost all our possessions that day. We had to live with family and friends for 6 months after that so I could save up money for something of our own. We are currently living a a small trailer together. I was able to save up money, enough to put a down payment on a piece of land. Sometimes when I look at all my bills and expenses, I can’t even sleep because it’s too much. We were so happy to hear of Homes of Hope through a neighbor who knew about our situation. I pray that you are able to help my family, my daughter deserves something better. She is so wonderful, the top student in her class. I am so proud of her. Thank you for all the families that you have helped, we are hoping to become one of those families. Blessings.

Hello, my name is Grisel and I’m 26 years old. I’m a widow with a 4 year old son, his name is Hazael. I’m thankful to be able to write you this letter and hope that you can help my family. We are in a very difficult financial situation after losing my husband, Emanuel, to tuberculosis. I was trying so hard to work and come up with money for all of his treatments but it was never enough. We at times have not been able to eat because all our money was going towards my husband’s treatment. We did all we could but lost him on February 10th of this year. We have just been surviving since he passed. Thankfully our pastors are letting us stay with them because they know all about our situation. My pastors also are very poor but they still have chosen to help us. I became behind in my land payments and also almost lost that. My sister came to my aid and has been helping me make the payments, thankfully. Honestly, I feel I have nothing. I just started work 3 weeks ago at a factory and I’m working to save up money again. If you could help us with a home, we would be so thankful. Thank you for taking the time to read about our lives. I pray God’s blessings over you and that He would provide for all your needs!

Hello, we are the Soto Santiago family. I am from Guerrero, Mexico and my husband is from Chiapas, Mexico. We are really in need of a home, we currently live in one small together. I share a bed with my three children and my husband sleeps on the couch. We have a table but no chairs, and a small stove top I use to make our meals. We had been living with my mother in law but quickly outgrew the space when we had children. We tried but renting but everywhere was so expensive. So we quickly built a small room on our property that we could have a place to live. Our house is barely staying together but we did the best we could with the cheapest building supplies we could find. My husband sells popsicles from a push cart but it isn’t a stable income. We sell anything we can to come up with to have extra money for our house. It’s just never enough. Having a home would be a dream come true, we pray God hears our prayers. We have never lost faith in Him, even on the hard days. Thank you for considering us, God bless you.

Letter from the family:

Hello loved ones. We are the Santiago Velasco family. We are from the State of Oaxaca., Oaxaca. It is a very humble place. We are from a ranch that is approximately one hour and 30 minutes from the center of Oaxaca. Where we come from, there is no water or electricity, much less work. The only economy we have is to cut trees down, and other items are bartered to the food and items we need.

We left the ranch in order to achieve our dreams of having a little house and land to build it on. We arrived here in Rosarito five years ago and thanks to God we already secured a piece of land. We have been paying for it for two years. Due to economic situations, we haven’t been able to build even a small structure to live in on our land yet. We would like to make a little house, like when we lived on the ranch in Oaxaca, but we have not been able to yet. Yet we have faith in God that soon we will have a home on our land to be able to live with our children. We ask you with much love and faith to help us reach our dream since we are a very simple family.

Sincerely, the Santiago Velasco family

That’s why I came to Rosarito about 4 years ago. When I came here, my uncle let us borrow a little house to live in, and eventually we were able to obtain our own little plot of land. However, the reason I am asking for your help is because we don’t have enough money to build a better shelter. Especially when it rains, all of the water leaks into our house, we all get wet, and we’re very squished in here being a family of 6.

Letter from the family:

Hi my name is Dora Alicia Alvarez Solario and I am writing this letter to ask for help with a house. I am a single mother of five children, three of which are minors… Riqoberto 29 years old, Esteban 24 years old, Sonia 16 years old, Jacqueline 14 years old, and Alberto 13 years old. My oldest son Riqoberto suffers from a disability in one of his legs which is why he has not been able to find a stable job. I was a person who for many years was involved in drugs and thank God I was able to come out of that four years ago. I had a property which I lost because of my drug involvement. 16 years ago when I was about to have my daughter, Sonia, I did not have the money for birth nor for the baby’s needs and I sold the property to my older sister who allowed me to live on that property for a little more than 15 years. I lived on half of the property that she lent me and the other half was lived in by my niece, daughter of my sister, to whom the property was sold. A few years later my sister gifted the property to my niece as she had two children. As the years passed, both of our families were growing with more children, me with five and her with three. So I made the decision to leave that house and currently I have a property we are paying off between my son Esteban and I. We were able to buy some wood to have a place to live, but it’s a very small space, one in which we’re not all able to be together. My two older sons are currently staying with one of my sisters and my three younger children and I live on the property. Thank you all so much for your support in allowing us to live in a dignified home, one in which all my children and I would be able to be together.

Please receive a warm greeting from our family to you! We give thanks to God for your lives and all the beautiful work that you do. We know that Homes of Hope has blessed so many families! To tell you a little bit about myself, my name is Benjamin Jorge Guzman Torres. I am originally from Oaxaca. I have two daughters, and I am married. We came to this place looking for a better life and now we have been here for two years. My wife and daughters gave their lives to Christ while we were still living in Oaxaca but I did not. I was very submerged in drinking and after arriving to Tijuana, I started using drugs as well and spent all of my farily's money on it. I am forever grateful to my family. They prayed for me and their church did too. They prayed that God would do a work in my life and He did. I am a new man now, no longer addicted to anything! I believe God is now blessing us and we were able to get a plot of land that we pay for monthly. We would love to put a house on our property so that we don't have to pay rent anymore. We know that God is good and knows our needs, He has already done so much for us! A home will provide security and protection to my family. Sometimes the wind has been so strong that it's knocked down the structure that we currently live in. May God bless all of you abundantly. Keep doing the beautiful work that you do! Thank you.

Dear Homes of Hope team, before I start, I just want to thank you for giving my family a glimmer of hope about our situation because you’re listening to our story. There are three people in our family; myself, my husband, and our 7 year old daughter, Lupita. I am also currently pregnant with our second daughter, Dannia. My husband and I both have jobs, praise God. But when our baby is born, I will transition to being a stay at home mom. Our greatest desire as parents is to give our daughters a safe and comfortable home. We know this would make our girls so happy! Our daughter Lupita dreams of having her own room, one where she can put stars on her ceiling and decorate her space either ‘Minnie Mouse’ themed, or with princesses. Everything we do and ask is to ultimately give our daughters a better life. A home of our own would be a dream come true! We choose to be grateful for the small home we currently live in- it too is a gift from God. Thank you for taking our family into consideration, we appreciate your time. Love, Ernesto, Paty, Lupita, and baby Dannia
