Letter from the family:

I am asking for help on behalf of my family that is made up of my daughter Raquel Esmeralda Lopez Vazquez who is two years old and my husband José Guadalupe Israel Lopez Olivares who is 37 years old to receive the blessing from God through the hands of Homes of Hope to have a home. The house that we’ve made with much sacrifice and work has many air leaks and when it rains leaks water as well. In the area where we have the bed and where we sleep, we get wet when it rains. Also in the second entrance of the house and in the bathroom there are leaks because our economic situation is difficult, and that is all that we have been able to build. My husband is not able to work in a factory on his feet because he is disabled since birth and the way that we earn a living is doing repairs on washing machines, refrigerators, and dryers. As in every job there are good days and bad days and it is for that reason that we are asking for help from Homes of Hope to receive the support of a house that we are so in need of. It gives us hope to receive the favor of God through the hands of Homes of Hope. With that being all, we thank you for your attention,

I am the only one that works in my house because my wife takes care of our daughter, she’s 4 and in kindergarten. We met a pastor and his wife awhile back and started attending their church. They knew about our situation and are letting us rent a room from them. Because of their kindness, we were able to save up money to put a down payment on a piece of land. We aren’t living on our land yet because I don’t make enough money to build any kind of a structure there. We pay for our land monthly. If it’s God will, we would appreciate your help in receiving a home. Bless you all.

Letter from the family:

Hello, my name is Adelina. I have two children, a 7 and 13 year old. Two years ago we moved to Rosarito where my parents have lived a long time. I’m no longer with my husband as our relationship turned physically, verbally, and mentally abusive. I had enough one day and left him to have a fresh start. In the beginning, everything was going okay. Over time my parents started to tell me that I needed to find a new place to live and I had no idea what to do. I understood that day that I was on my own, no support from anyone, and that I needed to find my way. I took a chance and started a barber shop course in Tijuana. Now, I use a small spot inside of my house to cut hair so that I never have to be without my kids. It’s going okay right now, praise God. I am trying my hardest! I was able to save money up to put a down payment on a piece of land and now I make a land payment there every month. I’m trying my hardest but it’s been very challenging. If you could help me with a home, I would be the happiest woman in the world.

Age: 27 years old

Profession: vendor

Salary Weekly: $ 75 USD

Mother: Maria

Age: 27 years old

Profession: vendor

Salary Weekly: $ 30 USD

CHILDREN

Name: Kellan - Age: 3 years old.

Letter from the family:

We would love to qualify for a home of hope as where we are currently living is lent to us by my in-laws. Previously we rented a home but because of COVID-19 my husband stopped working as selling was very dangerous, along with a lack of tourism, and with problems with work. Because of this we were unable to cover the cost of monthly rent. My in-laws decided to lend us a small space where they had stored their tools. In that way we’ve been able to save the money we would have put towards rent and decided that it would be better to purchase a piece of land for our children’s future. The space that we have to live is small as it is 2 x 5 meters and we have only what is necessary inside. We have a three-year-old son and I am 24 weeks pregnant. My son, my husband and I, because of how small the space is, sleep in the same bed. It is because of this that we would like to have a little bit more space for the kids where they can run, play, and have enough space to sleep.

To earn a living my husband works many hours all day selling items on the beach as well as myself who helps by selling Jell-O near our home. Now because of my pregnancy I work only a few hours, but my husband helps me taking the Jell-O’s to sell them. It is difficult for me to walk for many hours because my legs swell up.

The payments for our land are difficult and heavy for us as they are so high monthly, but we are up to date on them and we are content because we know that it is for a better future for our children. It is because of this that we put in the effort every day to keep moving forward. We’ve been very motivated by our parents on both sides as they have helped us with the main part of the down payment for our land and we are also very thankful to them. It’s because of this that our way of thanking them is working every day to continue paying off the monthly payments on our land. My small family and I would be very happy to be able to qualify for a home of hope. We thank you so much that you are giving us the opportunity to share a little bit about our life and for your valuable time that you took in reading this.

To who it may concern, I would like to ask for the construction of a home of hope for my family. On the land that we just recently acquired a few months ago, we have a house with walls made of recycled wood and it is in poor condition. Water enters the home from the bottom and through the roof. I have three children and they are often sick because of the humidity in my home. It would be a huge blessing for my family if you would construct our home as we would no longer spend months cold and sick because of the humidity in the house. Where my property is located I have been living here for 11 years but just a few months ago I was able to acquire a property for my family and pay it in payments. This is something that I have asked God for often to have a property and a dignified home for my children. I thank you so much for your time and your support as it is a great blessing to be able to count on your support. Blessings for all of you who make it possible to bless so many families.

I’m reaching out to you and your team in hopes that you might be able to help my family with a dignified place to live. My family and I are from a small town in Oaxaca, there it is very hard to find work. A lot of people choose to leave where we are from in hoped of providing a better life for our children. My husband and I sell different souvenir items in Rosarito, like bracelets, and I also braid people’s hair on the beach. Some days we make a little money and other days we don’t even make a peso. It’s hard walking around to find work with my children, sometimes my baby cries because he just wants to be held. We have been married for almost 9 years now and over time, we have been able to save some money and also family has loaned us some money to buy a property. We’ve never had a place of our own, we usually live with others and have to move around a lot. We have two children, our daughter Mariana who is 4 and Mateo who is almost 2. With everything that we have to pay for our land and our loans, we do not have enough money to build a home all on our own. That’s why we are asking for your help. We currently live in a home made of wood. But it’s not put together well and lots of air and water come in. My kids constantly get sick. With all my heart, thank you for your time. I look forward to your response, Abigail.

My family is made up of 6 people, 5 are my children; Katherine, Yonny, Angelly, Madeleine, and Mathew. My name is Natalia, I am the pillar of my family. We came to Northern Mexico searching for work because in Oaxaca, we could not find steady jobs. Sometimes I didn’t even have enough for milk and diapers for my kids. My kids are so amazing, they are smart and obedient. I just want them to have the best chance at succeeding in life. That’s why I’m here, and why I chose to purchase land- to give them what they deserve. I can picture them all attending university one day- they are all in the top of their class! I ask from the bottom of my heart for your help. We don’t have a nice place to live right now, it is very small and the floors are made of dirt. When it rains, our floors get flooded. Lots of spiders and scorpions enter our home, too. Because of my economic circumstances, I have not been able to provide a home for my children. It would be a huge blessing to receive help from your team. I care most about my children’s well-being and their education. Thank you for your time, blessings!

Letter from the family:

Hello, my name is Claudia and I’m 35 years old. There are 6 people in our family, my husband, Manuel, and our 4 children; Emmanuel, Kenay, David, and Keyla. I want to tell you a little of my family’s story. In 2018 we were a pretty happy family, living in my parent’s home. We didn’t have a lot but we were happy. The community that we were living in had a lot of construction going up around it. As more things began to be built, and land was moved around, houses around us began to fall. In total, 130 homes were destroyed, including my parent’s home that they had worked so hard to have. We needed to find somewhere else to live and stayed somewhere for a year before we were asked to leave because they were going to rent the home to one of their family members instead. We then moved somewhere else for 2 years, but then were asked to leave when the home was sold. We decided it would be best to buy land and start to build our own home but it didn’t come easy and was very expensive. We currently live on our property and my husband built us a small room that we all share together. We would really love a home, we want our kids to have their own space. We just don’t want to get rained on anymore, with that, we would all be happy. God bless you!

Letter from the family:

As parents, we believe our obligation is to provide a safe and warm home for our children, we want them to be happy. Right now we are living in a home that continues to fall apart, it’s also very small for our family of 6. Thankfully 3 years ago my husband’s uncle sold us a piece of land that he didn’t want anymore. Although we would love to build our own home, our finances do not allow us to do so. The cost of our land payment, rent, food, school for my children, and utilities causes us to have nothing left over to start building our home. We had been trying to save money but during the pandemic, we were forced to use everything when we both lost our jobs without notice or any compensation. After a few months, we both found work again and we are trying to save money and also continue to make our land payments. Right now I am excited thinking that we may be able to give our children a home soon, with your help. Thank you, bless you.

Hello Homes of Hope team! We came to find out about you through witnessing first hand homes being built one day. We noticed what was taking place and came to ask questions about what was happening. Sister Rocio was kind enough to explain to us how we too, could apply for a home! We can no longer afford rent anywhere because everything has become so expensive. We instead decided to move to our property 7 months ago and built a small room there. We have been trying to save money up so that we can have something nicer but its hard because there is never enough. Our desire is to give our children a dignified place to live, they deserve that. On our own, we cannot make this happen. We have had a hard time making ends meet and especially now with the cost of everything going up. Our oldest daughter is in school now and we can barely afford to send her there. We currently help my mother in law as well with her needs as she is diabetic and her medicine is very expensive. We really need your help, we would be forever grateful to receive it. Thank you for taking the time to read our letter, blessings.

Everything I earn goes to my family and our bills. I take what I need to pay for my transport to and from work, and then give the rest to my wife for our food and other necessities. My name is Jennifer. The reason I write this letter to you is to ask for your help so that I may receive a home for my family and myself. I’m 20 years old, my husband is 23, and our son 4 year old. Doing everything on our own has been very difficult especially with the new costs we have with a small baby. It hasn’t been possible to set aside enough money to build a home for ourselves. We want something better for our daughter, for her to grow up in a home of her own. I know everything that we are looking for is possible with God and whoever He might send to help. Right now we are living with my husband’s parents, they are lending us a small room in their home for the time being. We are so thankful for their help! We still long for something of our own; a space where we can put our daughter’s crib and have space for her to play. Every beginning is difficult and I’m very proud of what we have been able to do on our own so far. I ask for your help one more time, we have faith in God! Thank you!
