Letter From the Family:

Greetings to you all, and thank you for helping those in need.

We are a family with little economic resources, and this is what has caused us to come look for help in the construction of our house. What my husband makes currently doesn't cover all of our costs and with our new baby on the way, we are worried. Our house doesn't have a floor and the roof is incomplete. When it's cold, so are we; when it rains, we get wet; when it's hot we get burned and we've been praying for a way out of this.

That's why we have come to you, we know that you help families in need with new homes. We trust in God and that He will provide for us. We ask you and thank you with all of our hearts. May God shower you with blessings.

Letter From the Family:

We are in need of a home because we currently live in a little room made of really old wood. When it rains, everything gets wet and we don't have any kind of floor, so our room turns into pure mud. In times of heat, we bake inside our house because we don't have windows. We didn't want to put windows in the house because on windy days, our house would fill up with even more dirt.

It would be a huge blessing for us to receive a Home of Hope because we would love to have a shelter that protects us from the outdoor elements; a home that has space for us to cook and to be a family. Thank you for blessing our family!

Letter From the Family:

Hello, my name is Maribel Garcia and I'm twenty eight years old and I have three beautiful children. I am a stay at home mom and my husband works, he is the only one that supports us and he makes $60 dollars a week. Things are very tight for us because it's not easy to support our three daughters.  Right now we are living in a house that is 4 meters by 3 meters, it doesn't have a floor and our roof is made out of plastic, we are afraid because December, January & February, are the rainy months of the year. We already stuggle to feed our family and clothe our kids and with the cold coming I'm afraid that my kids will get really sick. Five of us living in a small space is dificult because our girls just keep growing and needing more space. It's our biggest desire to have a place to rest, a place that's clean where we don't have to worry about the dirt in our food or where we sleep. We just want to live together and be a happy family.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and even more than that, thank you for your time, energy, and love in chosing to build my family a better home. Maybe for you it will be two days, but for us this is a lifetime of change. My husband and I will now rest better knowing our girls will have a brighter future, and a safe home.

Letter from Family: Greetings in the name of Jesus. I hope for all joy and good health for your families. I would like to ask for the support of a house. I am the mother and father for my children. Sadly, the father of my 3 children treated me badly. My children and I suffered from domestic violence and his substance abuse, which was the reason we had to seperate from him. I have been living alone with my kids for 2 and a half years. Sometimes I don't have money to buy food and since my kids have started school I haven't been able to buy my kids their uniforms. I am asking God for help.

Thank you,

Letter From the Family: Approximately 2 years ago my husband, sons, and myself moved here to Tijuana. At first we were living with my sister-in-law and didn't pay rent. With the little money that we saved we bought our land. Since then, we have had to pay rent and for the schooling of our two sons and our land payments. Combined with all of our other expenses, it has become too much. That is why we hope you would consider our case. If we had our own house we could stop paying rent and we would be able to continue to pay for our land. We are originally from a small town in Guerrero. There we worked as farmers and humbly had a home. When all of the armed groups and organized crime started we had to leave for the well being of our family. My husband works as a street vendor selling second-hand items. He works from 5am-4 or 5pm and on the weekends when my kids aren't in school, we go help him sell. I don't have a job for now because there is no one to take care of my kids, and even if I found someone to take care of them, I would have to pay for the child care. We have thought about going back to our small town but we always end up saying no because we couldn't return to how things were and leave what we have here. Thank you so much and God bless you all!

The reason we need this house is because we live in a small room that we built for ourselves. Our kids don't have enough space for them to play or to have anything to call their own. We have a few things that people have lent us but we don't have anything of our own other than one mattress, and a mini fridge. Our economic situation causes us a lot of stress because my husband is the only one who can work and what he makes isn't enough to save anything.

We pay our land payment and food and that's all we have. We are doing all we can to be able to to buy more material to put a wood roof on our house because right now we just have a tarp but we haven't been able to save enough to buy material yet. Thank you so much for helping our family, we have no words to express our gratitude!

We have now moved to our land and have built ourselves a humble home but the conditions of the house that we made are quite poor because of our lack of resources. My husband, son and I all work but it's still barely enough to support our families costs. We are very grateful that you are helping our family. I hope you have an excelent day! -Maria Asencion

Letter From the Family:

Hello my name is Olga and I'm the mother of five kids and the wife to my husband Hector. My husband is a photographer, he takes pictures and sells them in the streets. I work Friday Saturday Sunday in a factory. Our situation is like this, we bought a piece of land from the man that sells land in our área and when we got it we thought that it already came with a house because there was a house there. The people who lived there before us made the house but couldn't make their land payments anymore so they lost the land but they are going to take their house. When the seller saw our situation, and that we really don't have enough money to build ourselves a home, he said we could stay in the house until we found a way to build one ourselves.

The other family really wants their house and they have been asking us for it frequently. That's why we can to apply with Homes of Hope, because we still don't make enough on our own and my oldest daughter doesn't go to school because there isn't enough money to pay for her school. She takes care of our two year old son because he is disabled and needs constant care. Thank you so much for understanding that we need your help and that we can't do this on our own. May God Bless You in everything you do.

Letter From the Family:

I first heard of YWAM and Homes of Hope by a magazine I found. The magazine was talking about how a little girl went to her father when they were building for a family in need in Tijuana if they were going to build for the neighboors that were living in an abandon bus. I can't read or write so I had my oldest daughter read it out loud to me. When she was reading me the story I felt God tell me that I wasn't alone and that I could come to you for help.

My situation is like this, I am a single mother in need of a roof over my baby's heads. Like I said I felt like God sent me to you, I work very hard each day just to cover the basic needs of my kids. I love them so much and they are the reason that I don't loose hope and why I keep fighting. My parents were letting us live in there house for the time being while I got enough money saved up to make the first deposit and payment on my land. There were 17 of us living in a three bedroom house and there wasn't much room. I was asking God to provide some walls so that I could build a little house for me and my kids to stay in.

I was walking to work one day when I saw that there were some walls just laying in the middle of a giant sand pile and I knew that God had sent me them. I want you to know that the biggest desire of my heart has been to see my kids in a worthy home and I want you to know that we will value and take good care of the house just like you all would hope for. May God always poor out his blessings over you. We will be forever grateful for your support in giving us a better future. - Ana Isabel

Letter From the Family:

My name is Sandra and I have two kids and my significant other. We have been together for 6 years but we are not married. We moved here to Tijuana from Xalapa Veracruz looking for happiness in our lives. I want to share a bit with you so that you can understand why we came looking for happiness. When I was eight years old my parents decided to get a divorce and it made my family a very sad place to be. Then my mom started to sell all the houses on our land because we needed money. We eventually only had one left for my whole family to live in. We lived in that little house with my uncle and his family.

My uncle wasn't a very nice man and he used to abuse my mother and I. I don't really remember how the years passed by so fast but when I turned 22 I met the father of my kids. Six years later I met Valentin, and when we met we decided we wanted to look for something better, something different. We moved here and nothign changed until we found God about a year ago. We decided to give him our hearts.

We have always lived here and there with family members or renting, always on the move but a few months ago we were finally able to find land and make payments. Once we started making our land payments we realized that we didn't really have enough to pay for our land and food and schooling for our kids. We continue to ask God for his help because its been very stressful to live this way. We keep learning about his love and how to be happy and now we see that you are all coming to help. God has answered our prayers with your lives.

Letter From the Family:

Hello my name is Concepcion Daniel and my wife passed away, I'm 42 years old with three kids. I was unemployeed for a time but praise the Lord, I am now working as a chef in a local restaurant. My wife died of cancer the 17th of June 2013 and it has been very hard for me to keep going and I ending up falling into a depression. We were fortunate enough to have a sister in law that let us stay with her for awhile and brothers that helped me get some land. After some time living with my sister in law, I realized it wasn't a good environment for my children because there was a lot of violence in her home and I didn't want that for my kids.

I was struggling with nightmares of loosing my children or even my own life and I didn't have much hope left. It was in that dark moment when God showed himself in my life and I came to know him. I'm so ready to see my children with a better place to live. I've done all I can do but I'm afraid it's just not enough for what they need. I've been stuggling but when I heard you were coming, I knew that the Lord had heard my cries. Thank you so much, as the father of my family I am very grateful for your lives and what you've decided to do for us. God Bless.

Firstly I'd like to thank God for your lives and ask The Lord Jesus Christ to bless you for waht you do for people in need.

My name is Minerva Guadalupe mother of two very precious kids and wife to an amazing husband. We have been living on our land for 8 years. My husband built a little room for us and we've been living here ever since. The kitchen and bedroom is all together and because we have limited space my daughter was sleeping on the couch. She tells us she doesn't sleep well on the couch now so she sleeps with my husband and I.

She's told us for awhile that she'd like her own bed so she could decorate it like with princesses. It makes me a bit sad when I go to respond because we just don't have enough to give her what she needs. In the summer our house gets really hot because we just have one door and one window and no air reaches our house. I have just kept praying that we'd be able to bless our kids with a better life and when I heard of Youth With a Mission and Homes of Hope I knew that it was an answer to my prayers. Thank you all for serving families in need, keep falling in love with the work that you do because it's beautiful.

Hello my name is Alfredo Gonzalez Vernandez and I'm the father of my family. I don't have the resources to give my family a worthy roof over their heads and that's why we've come to ask for your help. For the same reason of not having the right kind of paperwork I can not have a job in a large company where pay is more stable.

Our house is in very poor and undesirable conditions and we've come to you in hope to stop our suffering cold nights with water coming in through the walls and roof. Despite our condition, we are a very happy and grateful family because we are unified, and healthy. We give thanks to God for keeping us together and in good health. Thank you so much for reading my letter, as a father it is difficult to ask for help. Hello, my name is Margarita and I'm a single mom with three kids. I was living with my brother and we had plans to move to our land but my brother ended up renting out the house we were living in because he needed the money. Where we are living now, on our land, doesn't have water, our floor is just dirt and our room is made of old wood and tarps. I wanted to have something better for my family but there wasn't enough time with only making $40 (dollars) a week and paying for school and groceries.

My two girls stay the night with different friends 2 or 3 nights a week so that they are safe because I worry about their safety and the living conditions. I don't want them to get sick. We could really use your help and we are so thankful that there are people like you in the world that help others in their times of need. We look forward to meeting you. God Bless.
