We have two children and currently live with our mother-in-law. We currently live in a farming area where pigs are raised and where they burn trash daily. This has been effecting our children's health. Our income is low, yet we have always dreamed of having a home for our family. We have had many problems with our current living situation which has created tensions within our family that has begun to effect our children. We would like to ask you to help us build a home where our family can live peacefully. For these reasons, we ask for your help in building our own home for my family. This would be the greatest blessing God could give us.

We are asking for help because the trailer that we currently live in is very old and every time it rains, water leaks into our home. Sometimes I'm not able to work because my children are still very young and I don’t like to leave them alone where something can happen to them, I would prefer them to be with me. Sometimes we don’t have enough money to buy food. My 5 year old just had surgery to remove a tumor that was in his mouth. He also has anaemia that may cause his tumor to return if left untreated. My children are very good students. I thank you all so much for your help in building me a home, God bless you.

Letter From the Family:

We are a family that naturally lives well, we do the most with what we have but with my salary we honestly can't afford to make a better home for ourselves. We were renting but decided that it was better to stop renting so we could put as much money possible in making a homes for ourselves. We moved to live on our own land three months ago and I've been doing my best to make a better home for my family. My wife and I want to have more kids but we decided not to until our situation improved. We truly want to have the best life for our daughter or our future kids and we saw how dificult it was for us to give Karina our best.

I already dug and put plumbing in our land and I've been working hard doing extra jobs to make a better bathroom for us. It's taken us a very long time because of my low pay at work. This is why we've come and asked for your help because we've done all that we can do for our family and we still live in pretty poor conditions.

Thank you so much for your love and generosity, we are extremely excited to meet you all and we are counting down the days until you arrive. Blessings!

I've been living with someone kind enough to lend me a room for myself in my kids. The trailer where we're living is his and he needs the space that we're taking up. We have no where else to go and I don't have enough to buy wood to build a little home over my land or to pay rent in another place.

Letter From the Family:

Hello, my name is Isabel Cristina and I've applied for a home because my family is simply not making ends meet with the resources that we have. I was out of work for a time and didn't have any way of paying my land. Thanks to my son, we were able to stay here because he went to work. Now I'm working for three days of the week as a seamstress. I'm a single mom, my husband went to prison and died a few years later. I didn't want to stay with him because it wasn't what was best for my kids.

Right now we're living all in one room. We have two beds, my daughter and I sleep in one and my older son sleeps in the other. The son that works doesn't live here with us because he delivers orders for the store smart and final and has to work the night shifts. He, thankfully, helps me out with things like food so that the rest of us can continue on. I've asked for your help because we can't make a better life for ourselves on our own. Thank you for choosing our family, we are extremely excited

Hello:

We've asked for your help because we only have two rooms where we are currently living. My husband and I use one room and the other room is used as a kitchen and it's also where my three kids sleep. The smoke from cooking is really uncomfortable and unhealthy for them to smell, and I feel bad that they don't have any space to themselves. All of their clothes and blankets smell like food but we don't have another place for them or to cook. We have a twin bed and a couch that we slide together at night for them to sleep on.

My husband works in a grocery store called Calimax and he earns barely enough to pay for our food. I work so that we have funds for our kids to go to school.

We hope to be able to provide better lives for our kids. With your help, we'll be able to give our kids better food and clothing, and a better education.

Thank you very much.

Letter From the Family:

Hello,

Our family is made up of my husband, Juan, myself and my baby boy, Juanito. We're originally from Jalisco and we came here looking for opportunity and a better life. We were living in a very hard situation, there was little work and when there was work, it payed very little. We came to Tijuana expecting to be able to build a home for ourselves, but nothing happened like what we had in mind. We lost our baby, and I feel like even to this day we haven't fully recovered from that loss.

We started paying for a piece of land but fell behind in our payments. Our little one kept getting sick and we had to do whatever it took to keep him healthy. We've spent a lot of money on medical treatments, analysis and doctor appointments. Unfortunately, my husband's salary doesn't cover all of my boy's needs. He has a low defense inmune system. Our son isn't doing well and it makes me very nervous because of what we've already been through. We're currently living on our land in a little trailer that a friend has lent to us. Our friend now needs the trailer for his family and we don't have a way to get a loan to be able to build.

My husband wants to go back to Jalisco but I don't want to loose the little that we've acheived. Even though doors are closing, our faith is very much alive. This is why we've reached out for your help, we believe that God has put you in our path. We're very thankful because we know that there are many other people struggling like us out there. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we know that God exists and that He never abondons us. -Maria

Blessings,

About two years ago, my oldest daughter Annika got very sick and was diagnosed with lupus. Because of this, I had to stop working to take care of her. I needed to take her to the hospital very often in different areas like Tijuana, Mexicali, and even Guadalajara. I haven't had the time to dedicate to a job because of her illness. I clean houses when I can to make some money for my kids.

The house that we live in now is one room and when it rains all the water gets in. The floor is made of dirt and we put some carpet over it to make it more home-like. As you can imagine, having a dirt floor doesn't help my daughter's illness, we truly need this home and better conditions for my daughter.

Thank you so much and may God bless you and your families.

We realized that we needed to make a better home for our kids when our oldest son's teacher asked them to draw a picture of their home. When the teacher came to pick up the papers, my son's page was blank. She asked him why it was blank and he said that he had never had a home because we've always had to move from place to place and never owned anything. My dream is for my kids to truly have a place to call home.

Thank you so much. God bless you.

We'd like to ask for your help from the bottom of our hearts. My husband is 63 years old and I'm 33, my son Eliot is 5 and my daughter is 3. We've been trying to build onto or improve the home that we're living in right now which is two meters by three meters. We've been living in this house for eleven years now but parts are getting very old.

The wood is warped and waterlogged and the roof material is ruined. When it rains all the water leaks through into our house and gets everything totally wet. As a mother, I desire the best for my kids. My husband doesn't get a lot of work because of his age, and about a year ago he had an accident and lost two of his toes. One of my sisters gave me a job working with her in the farmer's market. We work hard to be able to afford the kid's schooling and food for everyone.

May God bless you all, we are extremely humbled to receive your help. Thank you before hand for choosing us and for choosing to support our family.

A friend of ours let us borrow their house for a time because he had to resolve some things with his parents. He said that if we kept making the payments we could put the land in our name. That's why the name of the land has only been in my wife's name for two months. We just made the change. The house that they lent us is like a small room and all 7 of us live in this same room.

Our friend left their stuff for us because they knew we were in a very hard situation and we were desperate. We want to keep our kids in grade school and middle school. We don't have enough money to keep them in school and to build a better home for our family. We ask you for your help from the bottom of our hearts.
