Letter From the Family:

I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Pedro Garcia Macedas

I'm writing this letter to Homes of Hope and your team hoping that you're all healthy. My family would like to ask you for your help in building us a home. I work selling corn treats out of my walking cart. We've been going through a hard season and not making much as you can probably see in my salary. I don't have a consistent salary which makes it hard for my family to run. That's why I haven't been able to build a house.

My first son is about to go into kindergarten and with what I'm making, we've been doing the best we possibly can to pay for our land. We'd be so overwhelmingly thankful if you all would help us, and more than anything, we would be thankful for our kids so that they can have a better life.

We've been living with my brother who has been kind enough to lend us a little room to live in. May God bless you all abundantly, and thank you for taking your time and resources to get to know and change our situation.

I'm writing this letter to ask you for help in building my son and I a home. We are living in a little trailer that doesn't keep any water out when it rains. My son Cristian often gets sick with bronquitis due to the wetness and dust in our trailer, and for the same reason, he struggles with chronic tonsilitis.

I'd love for my son to have his own room, it's his dream. I work in a factory and I don't make very much. I wish I could work another job for my son but I'm worried that if I have an accident, I won't be able to be there for him. My dream is that my son's dream becomes a reality. That's why I've come to ask for your help, because I can't do it on my own. I congrautlate you in the amazing work that you do in helping families.

I pray that God gives you long life and good health so that you may continue blessing more families. -Cristino

Hello and good day,

We've applied for one of your homes becasue we are a very big family with not many resources. My husband and I have 5 kids and we live in a small room that's 4 meters by 4 meters. We all live, sleep, and cook in the same room. We only have two beds so we all sleep together too. My husband and I feel like our kids deserve their own space instead of having to be all together and with us all the time, but we haven't been able to give that to our children.

My husband is the only one who works and with what he earns, we are only able to afford to make our land payments and pay for food. We're excited to meet you and to receive your help. Thank you so much for your help, we truly need this home.

Letter From the Family:

Good Day to all of you.

Thank you for considering our situation. We've asked that you help us in building  a house for our family, especially our children. The house that we were able to make for ourselves is just some walls without a floor or roof. We've tied tarps around the walls so that we have some shade inside. We don't have any money left after paying for our basic needs. I have three kids and my husband works as a construction aid and gets paid only $90 a week when there's work.

We ask you from the bottom of our hearts for your help because at night the dew gathers on our tarp roof and it gets all of our things wet.

May God bless you with even more so that you may continue blessing other familes like us who are stuggling.

Letter From the Family:

Hello, my name is Adela and I'd like to share a bit of my story.

When I was younger, I fought in school so my parents decided to take me out of school. Because of that, I don't know how to read or write. The Homes of Hope staff are helping me to express my story to you. Because I never learned to read or write, its very hard for me to find a job, and more so because my kid's father left me and has another family. Every now and then, he will send us $100 to help me with some of my kid's costs.

My brother helps me make my land payments so that I can have a place to live with my family. I haven't been able to give my kids a worthy home and I often feel embarrased for them. My friends help them with their studies, because I can't. I wish to give my kids a better future and opportunites I never had growing up. I don't want to give up on them like my parents gave up on me. Thank you for understanding.

Letter From the Family:

May God bless you,

To have a home that we can call our own would be an amazing blessing from God. I have been looking for work for the last few months and while I haven't had work, my uncle has been giving us a little money so that we can afford our baby's diapers and other needs. I've been washing his carts and car to make a little money for my family. My wife studies and living off of little jobs that I can do isn't enough for my family and her studies.

Knowing all of this makes me super desperate, I've been searching for work and doing all I can. I do whatever I can find. I don't want my wife to have to stop studying because I feel like it will be better for us in the long run to have both studied. My brother saw that we were desperate and opened his doors to us for a short time.

Everytime that my brother and his wife have a disagreement, it's because we're in their house. This is why we've come to ask you for your help. We want the best future for our kid. When I first met my wife, she was 14 and with a small child, her mom wouldn't help her and her boyfriend at the time left her to fend for herself. I know that God put her in my path so that we could make a family and so that I could take care of her.

Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, for your help and for helping my family in a way I haven't been able to.

The reason that my husband and I are asking for your help is because we would love to have a beautiful home like the ones that you all make. My husband hasn't been able to build us a house because of his income and our costs.

The majority of our money goes towards the kids, my husband's transport to & from work, and for our land payment. The teachers in our daughter's school were talking to us about how our children's lives would be better when they have a stable home to come to each day.

We want a better future for our kids and we thank you for considering our situation.

Letter From the Family:

My name is Lucero Garcías Garfias and I am 27 years old and I have three children. I live in Tijuana, Baja California. Before, I was taking care of an elderly lady. On October 3rd, 2015, I had an accident and I fell down a flight of stairs about 3 meters high. I had a fractured tibia and fibula in my right leg. On October 9th, I underwent surgery and I had a plate and screws put in. I've been like this for 6 months and I still cannot walk and the wound is still not healing. I haven't been able to go back to work and my situation is really difficult.

Currently, I am paying towards a plot of land in the San Miguel Colonia. The father of my son Noe is helping me with 200 to 300 pesos every 15 days. The father of Daniela also helps me a little bit but he already has his own family.

Where I actually live they  let me use 2 rooms, but in June I need to move out. My sisters live in the San Miguel Colonia in a few rooms on my land. My situation here in Tijuana has been difficult. Where I live, my children cannot go outside to play, and the owners of the property do not allow my family or anyone else to visit us.

The truth is I really need this house. I do not have enough to give my children a home. I do not know how much longer we can be in this situation.

Thank you and we pray that God blesses you.
